NBC hits rock bottom: Sexy, contemporary Oliver Twist in development
NBC and Silver Pictures Television announced on Friday a pilot-script deal for “Twist,” a modern-day adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 19th century novel “Oliver Twist.”
“Twist” will explore a “sexy, contemporary” take on the classic tale, according to the network. It will star a struggling, twenty-something female (Twist) who “finally finds a true sense of family in a strange group of talented outcasts who use their unique skills to take down wealthy criminals.”

The weird thing to me is that it seems like you could take that concept and not say it's an Oliver Twist homage, since it seems far enough away from the concept. But it's like they think that saying it's based on Oliver Twist will act as a draw to someone, instead of seeming like an SNL skit.

They hit rock bottom with two of the highest rated programs on TV with SNF and the Voice.

How many shows do you watch on NBC? Parks and Rec and Hannibal are the only ones during the last 6 years for me and I watch a shitload of TV. Plus they pay $3B a year for SNF and now $450M for TNF when they owned Thursday primetime for like 20 years, which will also be on CBS and the NFL Network.
