Mr. Robot (USA) - Season 2 Discussion Thread - premieres 7/13/16
(from USA's press release, June 2016) USA Network today announced that it has added two episodes to the Season 2 order for MR. ROBOT, upping the Universal Cable Productions series from 10 episodes to 12 episodes. Sam Esmail, the creator and executive producer of the Golden Globe Award-winning drama, will direct all 12 episodes this season. Additionally, the award-winning series will kick off its second season on Wednesday, July 13 at 10/9c with a premiere night event that includes two back-to-back episodes -- presented with limited commercial breaks -- and a newly-announced live after show. Providing a behind the scenes look at the breakout drama, the one hour, live HACKING ROBOT after show will air on July 13, immediately following the two episode season premiere. MR. ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater). The July 13 episodes, titled eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc and eps2.0_unm4sk-pt2.tc, will pick up 30 days after the now infamous fsociety 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp. Season 2 will explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.

Awesome deal alert : Vudu is selling Season 2 with extras in HDX for $11.99 today only. Probably worth it just to watch the show without commercials.

I enjoy the show, but one thing I don't like is the insanity angle, trying to confuse the viewer by not making it plain what's real and what's not. I hope they don't do as much of that stuff this season.

I'm not a fan of the insanity angle either. However,
TVLine -- Mr. Robot Season 2 Boots Up With Less Hacking, More Heady Drama
It may be getting dropped from my "watch weekly" schedule.

I like how tucker started this thread, but doesn't actually say anything. He has 6 posts in the last 11 months. I guess we can expect to hear his opinion about the episodes in 2017.
I bought the Mr. Robot season 1 Blu-Ray and will try to watch those 10 episodes before I take a look at season 2. I think I gave it 3 or 4 episodes last year, but bailed because I wasn't feeling it. But I wanted to give it another shot due to the constant praise it was getting.

Some of my friends raved about the show so I watched it a few months ago. Didn't think it was as great as they said, but it was decent enough that i'll give Season 2 a go. Working in IT, I liked that the hacking in the movie was actually more realistic then the crap we usually get in shows and movies.

Pumped to have this back. Hell I may watch live tonight, I rarely do that for shows anymore. Also, this feels like one of those shows that warrants episode by episode threads, seems popular enough, but whatever I guess.

Man, Craig Robinson showing up really threw me off for awhile. He'll always be Darryl to me.
Episode was good. This show is a real mindfuck at times. Need to let it sink in some more before I contribute anymore thoughts.
RIP Gideon

Has anyone confirmed what the hell is going on with episode 2? It's actually scheduled for 12am Friday morning on my system...

That episode 2 listing has to be a mistake. There's no way USA will air it on Friday at 12am ET. I get the East coast feed here in California and it says 9pm.
Next week it's showing that episode 3 is airing in the regular timeslot.

I'm looking at a 90 minute 2 episode recording and a 60 minute re-air of Ep1 on my Tivo from last night with Ep2 recording tonight at midnight(Eastern) all with "New" tags.

Yeah, that's how it's scheduled here with Cablevision. I have WWE something from 8-10 then Queen of the South, then last nights Mr. Robot premiere and then ep. 2 at 12am and it doesn't even say "new"...

Not a lot of fans here in this forum, it seems.
I watched the first season last year, twice, and marathoned it again in the past 5 days. I thought the pilot was just great.
I watched the two new episodes last night, back to back, and thought they were great.
Just in case, comments about the two episodes:

Okay, I figured out the confusion.
Last night's premiere was episodes 201 and 202 edited together.
So next Wednesday will be episode 203.
So tonight on USA they are re-airing episodes 201 and 202 separately starting at 11pm ET.
