Well, they finally explained what Genesis is.
That part, at least, is consistent with the funny books.
I liked the hotel room fight; it's a fairly original take on angels/immortals where they're immediately resurrected while leaving a corpse behind. Wonder what they did with the seraphim.
Pretty shocked when Jesse iused the voice to tell Eugene to go to hell. Total dick move. Curious to see how they get him back.

The fight with the 3 angels was great. But was also convenient that in that maelstrom the only one who isn't immortal is the only one who never died.
Still too much Tulip.
They said they disjointed her. They did something to immobilize her.
I don't think Jesse intentionally meant to use the voice when he told Eugene to go to Hell. I think he was just upset and it came out by accident.

My favorite episode yet.
The angel fight was so, so well done I really enjoyed it. That said, the most powerful scene was the, "Go to hell!" We've all wished it would happen on occasion, but seeing it was chilling.

Episode was directed by Guillermo Navarro, Guillermo Del Toro's longtime cinematographer (and a regular Hannibal director). He seems well suited to this kind of material heh.

To me, this episode turned everything around for me. Now I'm really digging it. I hope they continue this trend.

If you really want to maximize your watching of Preacher with the minimum amount of pain, simply skip past any scene involving Tulip that doesn't include Jesse in it. That goes for every episode. People could find any number of shows they would like if they simply edited it for themselves.

Great episode. Feels like they finally started using all of the backstory they planted to get somewhere and it feels a bit more organic than the comics did in truth. Plus, if my guess is correct, season 2 will basically be a dark retelling of Blues Brothers.

I still don't get the Tulip hate. Episode 1 and this last one were her best moments, but I still don't "hate" any of her other ones. At least she comes off as an original character that the women I've spoken to really like.

To Tulip's credit, she's not a cookie-cutter female lead character we get these days from practically every Hollywood TV show. I think some of the antipathy is mostly a reaction to the casting and questionable accent.

Sadly the editing out of Tulip on the fly is easier said than done. She is also in far too many scenes that have turned out to be be at least slightly important. Removing every scene with her from the show would be plot suicide.

I can't speak for everybody, but I hated the same actress on SHIELD. Ruined every scene she was on on that show as well. But at least on SHIELD she wasn't portraying an existing character that is supposed to be a very attractive bad-ass.
