Is this year's Summer lineup particularly poor ?
I'm looking at the schedule
I love American Ninja Warrior
I will check out Shooter
I will most likely watch Bachelor in paradise
But overall the summer lineup looks pretty poor
This is when Amazon and Netflix should be released their best stuff. They have no competition

I'm so behind on the spring episodes that I kind of welcome it this year. The Last Ship, Royal Pains, Mr Robot, Killjoys and Dark Matter are the only things on my list. Think I will pass on Shooter.

I'm glad it's a bit of a weak Summer season. I'm working on catching up on The Flash, Quantico, and Legends of Tomorrow right now. I'll be watching American Ninja Warrior, Night Shift, Ballers on HBO when it premieres, Are You The One Season 4 and The Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise shows for guilty pleasures.

Not very strong for new scripted content this summer on cable and the network.
But, there's plenty of quality returning shows like The Last Ship, Ray Donovan, Suits, UnReal, Major Crimes, Murder in the First and Dark Matter. I enjoyed Ballers 1st season although it got very mixed opinions. and of course I have to watch the expected final season of my summer guilty pleasure Pretty Little Liars.
I know it's already posted on demand (haven't watched it yet), but I am looking forward to Outcast on Cinemax in a few weeks. Also looking forward to Vice Principals in July. McBride and Goggins as dysfunctional colleagues should be comedy gold. I liked the trailer for Shooter. Hopefully it's a decent action series.
The 8 hour OJ Made in America film airing on ABC and ESPN is one of my most anticipated of the summer.

Most of my Summer shows ended either last Summer or the Summer before.
This Summer, I don't see anything new worth picking up, and the only Summer show left hasn't even had a date announced for when it'll premiere. Since one of the main characters got hurt during the filming of a movie, I guess Teen Wolf may be post-poned till Fall from what rumours are floating around.
So looks like my Summer will be filled with catching up on other shows and watching Anime.

Well, I won't have to watch Under the Dome, Extant, or The Whispers this summer, so that's an improvement. I'll still probably watch CBS's new summer shows, Brain Dead and American Gothic. Hopefully those are good. I'll still probably watch Zoo for some reason.
There's always Big Brother though to kill most of my summer viewing (3 hours a week plus live feeds).

Technically The Strain isn't a Summer show this season... or at least it's a late bloomer. Doesn't start until the end of August, which is about the time most Summer shows are ending or more than 70% finished. The Strain was usually on ep 8 of the season by the time it'll premiere this year.

I like the Last Ship. It is doing the post-apocalyptic scenario on a ship MUCH better than Fear the Walking Dead which I finally gave up on last episode.

Bates Motel, Vinyl, and Girls are all finished so the TV season is over for me.
Maron though it did not start in the Summer will be the only show I watch and repeats of the Simpsons and maybe the Muppets and Last Man on Earth but those 2 shows I keep delaying.

Summer is always kind of a slow season for tv watching for me. I tend to watch more movies or play video games during the summer months.

If you want to catch up on The Last Ship before season 3 starts and you have Hulu, you can watch the first two seasons there.
If you just need to catch up on season 2 and you want to spend Memorial Day in front of the TV, TNT is doing a marathon from 7:00 am ET-8:00 pm ET.

If you're a fan of elimination-style competitions (Survivor, Amazing Race, etc) and don't mind watching something with subtitles, I highly recommend the South Korean show The Genius. The show emphasizes people skills and game theory. It is a really good show.
Someone was nice enough to put English subtitles on all the episodes and put them on Youtube or Dailymotion.
