Was this episode directed by Kevin Smith of Clerks?

I love this quote as much as I loved this episode. Just well done.

You know who came off best in this episode? Iris.

Re: The Flash (S2E21) - "The Runaway Dinosaur" - 5/10/16

I actually think it's time they start putting Barry and Iris together. If they don't do it very soon, she will become persona non grata on the Flash like Laurel did on Arrow.

It's great to see you back, because we are about to die - Cisco

I never thought that Cisco would become my second-favorite character on this show.

I didn't really notice Kevin Smith's direction aside from the dumb Jason Mewes cameo. The guy playing Girder was just about the worst zombie in TV history. I still loved this episode, the ones with Barry's mom always get me misty. I loved his memory about The Runaway Dinosaur book.

Whatever Earth he's on, Wells needs a better haircut.

It was funny how Joe tested Wally, expecting him to have superspeed.

Great episode, and probably Iris's best. Now time to race to the finish.

Re: The Flash (S2E21) - "The Runaway Dinosaur" - 5/10/16

I caught up with the entire 2nd season this weekend. Not very impressed with Zoom as a villain, but otherwise the Earth 2 stuff has been cool. I like what they did with Wells, good way to keep the character/actor around but with a nice twist.

I hope they come up with a storyline that doesn't focus on a "speedster" villain next season.

Personally I've never really liked the Iris romance angle on the show, probably because I don't really like Iris all that much as a character. I liked Patty a hell of a lot more and I think the character/actress had a lot more chemistry with Berry.

It's cool that they are doing more with Cisco, but I really feel like Caitlin is underutilized on the show. Granted, the actress isn't the best and her Killer Frost was kind of cringe worthy, but I wish her character wasn't so passive.

Re: The Flash (S2E21) - "The Runaway Dinosaur" - 5/10/16

So were there any Easter eggs in that Zoom group shot in the end? Should have had at least a couple of the soon to be seen villains in there.

Other than not buyign that Wells would know dick about the "speedforce", or that it even exists in the first place, it was a great episode to put some perspective on Barry's life choices. And hopefully now the show can just get back to normal (other than obviously eventually making Jessie and Wally speedster sidekicks).

He played Cisco in this episode. And the guy whose mom owned a flashy car.

He was also one of the villains in the final scene. I only know this because Smith mentioned it on a podcast. He was wearing a mask, so I doubt anyone could pick him out.

I've seen Oldboy and I realize Jay was an old boy with his mom's car but is there another reason you guys keep saying Oldboy?

Many fan boards are speculating one or two cast members may get killed off by the season finale.

I thought the burger guy looked familiar but didn't recognize it was Mewes.

Re: The Flash (S2E21) - "The Runaway Dinosaur" - 5/10/16

This season would have been much better if they either did more with the Earth 2 aspect, or condensed the season down to like a 10-12 episode run and did away with the whole 'Legends of Tomorrow' build-up / advertising that consisted of the first 1/4 of the season.

That's one thing I think Once Upon a Time got right; in that despite being 22-24 episodes a season, they have two arcs each season so the story doesn't run on for too long. The first half finishes one arc/story and then the break, then the second half is another arc/story.

Flash and Arrow both could benefit from this setup imo as both Darhk and Zoom have over stayed their welcome and there is only so many times you can duke it out only for something to continuously prevent the cast from ending it so that the 'bad guy' can return later.

I honestly saw Mewes' name show up on the screen and thought to myself, "Kevin Smith wouldn't direct a Flash episode would he? No other reason Mewes would be a guest star." And about then the directors name' popped on the screen. Didn't know about it beforehand.

What? We're not naming the villains in the last scene?

I thought it was a good episode. You have to wonder though, if the Speed Force gave Barry his powers, who gave Zoom his?

It's an interesting question probably best left unanswered.

All reports say that Flash's cast loved working with Kevin Smith and that Berlanti has begged him to come back for more directing and possibly writing of Arrowverse shows. I'm not sure how much spin this is since they know Smith is a hugely influential voice in the fan community.

Kevin Smith is well known in comic book circles for writing several Green Arrow stories...

He wrote Quiver which is one of the best GA arcs in years.

This was one of the BETTER episodes in recent weeks.
Glad Barry is getting his act together. Like the spark he gave Jesse.

I love their set up. Twenty two episodes is just often too long for one story line and would work better running half that.
