This used to be such a big and exciting deal. Looking at all the lists for ideas on what to be buy. Hundreds of dollars being spent. Miss those days.

Figures they'd do this right after I placed my first order with them in a while- since I finally have money again I got the last Paranormal Activity in 3D just because they had it for under $30- it's been overpriced everywhere. They actually didn't raise the price for this "sale" either.

Some deals in there like the Looney Toons Platinum volumes.
Oh, they do have Night of the Comet for $20.13.

If DD didn't raise prices specifically for this sale, they raised them 2 or 3 weeks ago. Several items I was eying in the $14 range are now in the $15 range. Was going to write this off, then found Kino's upcoming Film Noir boxed set on pre-order:
http://www.deepdiscount.com/film-noi...t/738329203634
Original price: $41.84, price after discount: $35.56. For 5 films, the original price was well within my sweet spot of about $13, the new price even more so. And all without Prime.
Guess they weren't selling so well individually? Would love to see Kino do this with some sci-fi titles.

Part of the useless trend to use the faster script handling ability of Win 7, 8 & 10. All it does for me is slow down the (in many ways superior) XP...........

I picked up the Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci collections, both $18 and change before the discount, seems pretty good for 3 movies each.

What I picked up:
Outer Limits: Complete Collection [Import]: DVD (Additional shipping charge applies - 1.11 lbs) $39.08
Infestissumam (Deluxe Edition) by Ghost CD $12.13
Thundercrack Blu-ray $22.54
Fanny Hill / Phantom Gunslinger Blu-ray $16.53
Mulholland Drive - O.S.T. [Import] by Various Artists CD $8.39
$98.67 - subtotal
($14.80) - discount
$2.99 - extra shipping
$86.86 - final total
Good prices on all of those above after the discount, especially the Outer Limits, even with the extra $3 shipping cost. It is the Australian release and not the double-sided discs the American release has. I figure if I go ahead and finally buy the dvds then there will be a BD announcement within days of me receiving the set.
There were a few other items I wanted to pick up but will have to wait on the next sale. They had a really good price on the 8 CD / 2 DVD set of Elvis Presley's "That's The Way It Is" super-set for around $85 after the discount (plus a shipping up-charge). Figured I would wait on it and hopefully the price on that will go lower eventually. It's crazy that they did not put the BDs of that release in with the super-set.

It's funny, but I was getting antsy waiting for another 15% off general use coupon to came around. And when it finally did I found most of my enthusiasm for ordering more movies has mostly evaporated.
I struggled to make up a small list of stuff and even then I waited too long and the one title I was absolutely eager to get (Panic In The Year Zero) got taken off the deal grabber special and reverted back to it's normal price making it no deal at all with the coupon.
And then, to top it all off, after compiling a modest but wanted selection of stuff, I go to check out and I find all the buttons at the bottom of the cart page (Checkout; apply coupon, etc) all just send me back to the home page. Calling up customer service it seems they are aware that the new site doesn't play nice with Firefox (or at least the version I have).
So now I can't place an order at all.
Oh well, more money to put towards Intrada, LaLaLand, Varese...which is where most of it's been going the last 6 months anyway. Soundtracks are way more expensive than Bds/DVDs, especially the out of print ones. But I gotta say, I feel like I'm realizing a far better bang for the buck enjoying those, than I am hoarding shrinkwrapped movies or getting two hours of pleasure spinning them once every four years- if even that often.

Same thing happened to me. I was waiting for a coupon and was glad to see it, but my main item, -the one that drove my enthusiasm to order, -suddenly went up $6.50. The other couple of items seemed suspiciously 10-15% higher than they might have been a few months back. In particular, their Shout Factory prices have jumped up lately, and while DD is where I usually bought them (and other niche companies), I might as well stick with Amazon or wait for the occasional sale from SF itself.

Wow! That's a very good price for that set. I picked it this past January for $65 and thought I'd gotten a deal. I checked several sites looking for a "better" price but neglected to check DD thinking it wouldn't be available from them since they didn't have a listing on Amazon. Still... it's a *great* upgrade over the horrible DVD18s used on the Uni sets and I'm thrilled to have it! Other than no paper episode guide(s), the content is identical, even the menus, just on SS discs.

Re: DeepDiscount 15% off sale - expires 5/11/16 @noon CST
I ended up being about 80 cents short of free ship before the discount (Which means $3 & $4 short), so I'm passing this time. It was more an issue of price then selection; though there are no new releases I can't live without right now either.
I hate for a Super D store to be my "go to"; but with rising shipping costs, sales tax on many retailers, & my declining income I feel like I have little choice.

And don't worry about the "Region 4 - PAL" notice on the back. It plays fine on US equipment. I have R1 Sony players (a DVD and a BR) and it plays without issue on both.

Crap. I've only seen my OL set on a CRT. I'll prepare to be disappointed on my 1080p. I've actually found that a lot of older films & a lot of poorly mastered 480 looks better on the old sets; as does compressed (even 720) cable TV. (though over the air 720 looks great in Hi-Def)

Another 15% off code: BLACKPEARL
valid through Thursday, 6/30 at 3pm CST
I am interested in placing an order for the Night of the Living Dead(1990) Import, but it shows it as being OOS. Anyone had any luck getting this title for them? Amazon UK has it for £11.89, and with the dropping rates I am tempted to hold off.
