Just want to be the first to say:

I can't believe Travis/Madison/Ophelia did that!

Nick really needs to change his clothes.

I don't understand why Strand/Salazar/hot chick continued to [blank] when surrounded by zombies/pirates/sharks.

I can't believe they killed off
Spoiler:
nobody
in such a shocking manner!

I thought it was good. I think this whole season has been good. Way better than the first season. Maybe I'm just getting used to the characters.

Meh... was passable.

I don't think there was a character who did anything stupid this episode. At least nothing that made me roll my eyes. That's something.

I don't understand where the woman (Madison?) gets off thinking she should take command of anything. Is it her recent history of being wrong about everything that makes her feel qualified?

Glad they didn't string along the hostage crisis. And agree that the characters were far less dumb than usual. I mean, Chris was told quite clearly not to interact with the pirate with the spear through him and dutifully he waited nearly a minute or two before he did.

I think that has more to do with him being fucked in the head than it did with him being dumb. They seem to be building up his issues since his mother died.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S2E05) -- "Captive" -- 5/8/16

Strand and addict-boy are the only two characters I would flinch at seeing killed off. Their are a few who are shrug worthy (like Ofelia), and the rest I actively cheer for the zombies against them. I think part of the reason is that for me there is no coming back from the sheer and utter stupidity of needlessly causing the slaughter of dozens/hundreds of innocent people at the end of last season. Probably not coincidently, Strand and addict-boy are the only two who had no hand in formulating or executing that plan. I know it was a contrivance for the sake of having a big zombie horde battle scene in the season finale, but it is part of the character's canon now. These people are dumb...really, really dumb. There is no unseeing that.

That hostage exchange was straight out of the comics. I wonder if they won't do that now on Walking Dead proper, though I could see them potentially setting it up in recent episodes.

I gotta admit, out of all the episodes I liked this one. I was able to suspend my hatred for "Fear of" just long enough to be entertained. They didn't linger on the bad guys for countless episodes. Wrapped it up nice and quick with a goof ball hostage exchange.

I think I'll embrace this show for the cornball aspects that I once despised.

I also really enjoyed this one. If the next couple episodes are just as good, I'll be really looking forward to this once it comes back from the break.

I was really hoping Alicia would stab the pregnant bitch in the stomach or something, and then her dead baby would eat its way through her belly.

That's the kind of shit I want to see in my zombie stories.

The overall story is pretty good this season but I just don't care about any of the characters. I think I'm watching it more to see which main character is the first to bite the dust.

I am appreciating how they are moving the story along. I was worried that Connor would stick around as the big bad guy with Alicia stuck on the boat and the rest of the season is them trying to figure out what to do. First time the show has really surprised me.

Jack, the pregnant bitch, and Alex were still alive at the end of the episode. I think Connor just got bit on the arm, so if they chop off his arm quickly enough he could still survive. But I doubt it.

I do think we'll see Alex again, though.

It seems strange to introduce a pregnant character unless the story uses the pregnancy in some way. We know the baby's not kicking so I'd be disappointed if we don't see the aftermath.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead (S2E05) -- "Captive" -- 5/8/16

The pregnancy was used as a ploy to get on the boat. Worked pretty well too. That's probably all we'll get from that.

But I do expect we will see Alex and Jack again. Wouldn't surprise me if they join upafter Connor's demise and find the larger group. Possibly even join them once this whole Baja thing is completed.

Except that they could've just had the character fake being pregnant with a pillow under her shirt to get on the boat. And with her not really being pregnant, she's more of a threat. So if that's the last we see of the character - her pregnancy was pointless.

They were also able to have that long discussion about how she probably didn't want the kid and the baby wasn't moving. I thought it was a great scene. YMMV.
