Decent episode, sure was a lot of stuff packed into it. A lot of it made no sense tho:

Supergirl can lift 100mil Tons? I also thought Superman/Supergirl can survive for a limited time in space if they hold their breath? They can also navigate in space as well.

Superman was lying on the table but they still wouldn't show his face.

Pretty odd that it's the end of the season and no mention of a second season. I would have thought it was a no–brainer for this show by mid-season.

Re: Supergirl (S1E20) -- Season Finale -- "Better Angels" -- 4/18/16

Note to self: Never plead for a Superman appearance on this show ever again. In fact, pray Superman gets trapped for its entire run in the Phantom Zone.

Addressing the pod, it could be several different possible people/things in it. Powergirl is a good guess. We all know this show is about chick power, adding another female superhero in the mix hits their target demo.

Spoiler:
Personally, I hope it's Mon-El. Did they ever mention in the episode if it was Monday?

This was a solid finale, sweeter than how most other comic book shows have approached their season enders. That fight between Martian Manhunter and Indigo was more brutal than I expected.

I won't go into the plot point about Supergirl needing to be rescued by Alex. It is becoming slightly maddening that Supergirl is less or more powerful depending on the needed drama in an episode or scene.

I think the season was a success. The writing isn't as tight as the Flash or Arrow's best seasons, it respects the comic books even less than those two shows, but generally works due to Melissa playing a great Kara/Supergirl and Calista Flockhart becoming a real fun version of Cat Grant.

They included a line before the final battle that the other Kryptonians were asleep in stasis. It wouldn't bother me if they don't pick up that story thread for a long time. I don't think dumping dozens of Kryptonian villains in Supergirl's first season was a great idea. They should have kept it to Non and Kara's aunt.

Re: Supergirl (S1E20) -- Season Finale -- "Better Angels" -- 4/18/16

Decent final story line and a good couple of cliff hangers but they really screwed up the pacing in the last 25min or so. Kept trying to stick to a time line of everyone being near death but also have lots of breaks to talk stuff out.

At one point they went from her sister being on the floor racked over with pain to being 100% fine talking out a plan for a few min. That could of been edited better for over all pace

but still a pretty good final that match the over all tone of the show well. I hope we get a 2nd season but given what I'm guessing is the huge cost to make the show I can see it being canceled.

Re: Supergirl (S1E20) -- Season Finale -- "Better Angels" -- 4/18/16

I like the show overall but the writing could be a lot tighter. The way the show is done it seems they have not idea what the future episode will be. Also very few people know how to write for god level characters. The writers on this show aren't that creative and constantly contradict themselves. I do like how they handle relationships though.

Some of the big mistakes were having kyptonite resistance suits and then completely forgetting the bad guys had them. Having a group of bad Kryptonians like Phantom said and not having a good well to deal with them. Having superman on the show but having the most stupid reason for him to not be around. Dumping a number of alien villains and never saying anything about it. I thought those guys were going to work with Non but they never did. Always having to make Martian Manhunter weaker than he actually is, but he is still pretty cool on this show.

These are all things good writers could have overcome in interesting ways. Or maybe I should say better comic writers. However, this doesn't ruin the show. The Flash has the same problem to a lesser extent.

The handling of her powers was ridiculous, but par for the course on this show. But if in the end that episode results no Kryptonian villains for a S2, then it works for me. And if Power Girl looks like that picture on the show, bring it on.

I think the show has been OK. I'm glad it got renewed. But I like Gotham better.

how the fuck would we know? they didn't show anything.

during the scenes with non and indigo during the fight there appeared to be a figure standing in the background, but it obviously couldn't be superman. sure looked like it, though. odd.

sort of a lackluster finale, but overall, it was a good season.

Supergirl is coming back to CBS for another season, make no mistake. CBS is treating all its rookie shows equally with no current renewal announcements. They were waiting to see if Rush Hour was anything (it's nothing).

Every network wants to be in the superhero business and Supergirl is Monday Night Football counter-programming.

Re: Supergirl (S1E20) -- Season Finale -- "Better Angels" -- 4/18/16

Thought it was a decent final hour.

Supergirl's speech that woke everyone up from the Myriad trance was a little cheesy, but it had heart, which I appreciated.

The final fight between Supergirl/J'onn and Non/Indigo was a little anti-climatic.

at Alex flying in Kara's pod and rescuing her just in time.

So Supergirl can't breath in space? I've seen Superman fly in space before in the movies with no problems.

Especially in this famous final scene from the 1st movie:

Why would
Spoiler:
Mon-El
be in a Kryptonian pod?

The last iteration of Superman couldn't breathe in space, he could only hold his breath for long periods of time. Other than that he needed to wear an Oxygen mask (I have no idea about the New 52 version). But he could "fly" in space, no problem. He often went into orbit and beyond under his own power.
