I guess she's hosting just to host? She doesn't have a new movie to plug, I don't think.

Forget the fact that the alien dating sketch was painfully unfunny, but it was also really fucking creepy.

I liked the fake trailer for the "God's Not Dead"-type of movie about the baker.

The'God's Not Gay' trailer was great, but otherwise this episode didn't click for me. That jewelry sketch was dreadful and generic and is something I would expect in the final five minutes, not as the first sketch after the monologue.

I still say the writers gave up on reading their own scripts over a decade ago.

God, I was thinking the same thing. It had that last 5 minutes of the show vibe to me too! Hands down the worst skit was that CVS game show. Embarrassing actually. And the animal lover character on Weekend Update was pretty painful too. Barely a laugh from the studio audience the entire time.

Yep. I cracked a smile one time. They need to do something about the writers on the current line-up.

The only things I liked were the cold open and the fake movie trailer.

It astonishes me to realize there are actually paid writers on this show.

Another good episode

God is a boob man

The Mercedes sketch and the Cinema Classics with the actress looking for her lines was funny.

Not every sketch will be a home run but enough funny moments for me.

Thought it was an ok episode but with Dreyfus hosting I was expecting more. The alien dating and the God movie trailer were the standouts. Good WE segment also. Strong's character is fantastic and I could watch Pharoah's Shaq impression forever.

So this was the season finale? Awful.
I do wonder if they'll ever bring Timberlake back again?

No, it'll be back May 7 with Brie Larson hosting and Alicia Keys as the musical guest.

Shouldn't they have at least 3 new episodes in May? It is sweeps month after all.

I liked the "God's Not Gay" trailer, but here's the thing : There's been this trend this year (and probably the past few as well) where the best sketch in every episode is the pre-recorded bit. Before this, there was that amazing Racists for Trump ad, Dinklage's "Celebrity Naked & Afraid", Adam Driver's "Undercover Boss", Ronda Rousey's 80's Bullying spoof, Larry David's brilliant "Bern Your Enthusiasm". That seems like a problem for a live TV sketch comedy show.

One thing for sure this episode had more laughs that Daddy's Home that movie with Mark Wahlberg.

Maybe people should take some personal responsibility instead of spending energy complaining about a comedy show.

I'm actually surprised the God is a Boob Man sketch isn't getting a ton of shit from the religious right.

Yep. This has been the case for many years now. I realize they can't go fully prerecorded but they really need more of those, since those are the only bits that seem to work these days.

Huh!? Why are you comparing the two? Both sucked. But you're right. I laughed one time during "SNL" this week. Not once during "Daddy's Home".

Re: SNL (S41E18) -- 04/16/16 -- H: Julia Louis-Dreyfus -- MG: Nick Jonas

Pat Boone is not happy though it does not seem he likes Muslims lol

I did not know it was a spoof of a real movie called "God's Not Dead 2"

Pat Boone is calling out NBC and Saturday Night Live for allegedly being anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, cowardly, “diabolical” and even demonic for a skit over the weekend that parodied God’s Not Dead 2, the actor-singer’s latest movie.

In God’s Not Dead 2, Melissa Joan Hart plays a public school teacher who is persecuted for answering a student’s question about Jesus. In the SNL skit, a trailer for a movie called God is a Boob Man features a woman being forced by a Jewish ACLU lawyer to declare that “God is gay.”

“God has a sense of humor. Why else would he invent the porcupine and the giraffe?” Boone told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. “Something can be devilishly funny, but this skit is diabolical. God has only one real enemy — Satan. Satan ridicules faith, and they’re taking Satan’s side. They’re also ridiculing me and the film, telling impressionable young people not to see it because it's ridiculous. Then they throw in that the lawyer is Jewish to make the Christian look even worse, but it’s just anti-Semitic.”

Boone called NBC and SNL cowardly because executives and creative talent know they can pick on Christians without fear of reprisal, whereas political correctness dictates that some other groups are off-limits.

“This skit was outright sacrilege. They know if they did this to Muslims they’d have to be put into the witness protection program,” he said. “There’s nothing sacred at SNL — except maybe the words ‘Mohammad’ or ‘Allah.’ They’d never take those names in vain, but when they called God a ‘boob man,’ they took his name in vain.”

I don't get that from what he said in that quote. What he's saying is pretty true: comedians (and many others) are happy to rip on religion, as long as it doesn't touch Islam.

For the record, I don't believe in god. I'm just an equal opportunity religion hater.

That's because muslims will kill you; christians will only whine on facebook.

At any rate, go eat a dick, Pat.
