He Never Died (2015) (D: Jason Krawczyk; S: Henry Rollins)
Has anyone seen this? I'd never even heard of it until I saw it added to Netflix recently, and decided to give it a try. Pretty strange movie. Felt uneven for about the first half, but when things started to make sense it found its footing. Rollins' performance as the lead character of Jack was fairly subdued until his secrets started to be revealed. The end left a little to be desired, but apparently it's being turned into a miniseries which will continue Jack's story, also starring Rollins and being helmed by Krawczyk.

I liked it. Rollins gives a pretty good dead-pan performance as Jack.. I'd recommend it for those that like horror-comedy movies. The comedy is dark, not slapstick. Nothing phases Jack. He's a man of few words, until he's asked what jobs he's had. The scene is reminiscent of Bubba spewing shrimp dishes in Forrest Gump.
If Netflix picks it up as a series I'd watch it.

I recall reading about this in a New York Times "Upcoming in 2016" section last fall and mentally circling it. Turns out I should have used a bigger pen, I totally forgot about it till this post reminded me. Thanks - Netflix'd!
I wish I could find that paper, there were about eight things I really wanted to keep an eye out for. Seven more after this.

Looks like it was expected to open on Dec 18. I'm sure it gave a little thing called Star Wars a run for its money that weekend.
