Love & Friendship (2016, D: Whit Stillman) S: Beckinsale, Sevigny
Set in the 1790s, Love and Friendship centers on beautiful widow Lady Susan Vernon, who has come to the estate of her in-laws to wait out colorful rumors about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and her rather reluctant debutante daughter, Frederica.

I think Chi-raq is the only film they've produced. They rest, just distribute.
Regardless, they partner with bigger distributors for theatrical runs.

Absolutely loved this. Its right up there will Stillmans best. I'd say his funniest film. Kate Beckinsale should get some nominations for this, but probably won't.

I saw this. Didn't love it. Beckinsale did not have that inner Joan Collins that the role needed. She's beautiful but not that great an actress. There's a caustic wit at work in the screenplay that needed someone skilled in that kind of line delivery and she just ain't it. Same for Chloe Sevigny.

Just saw this and was a little disappointed after the RT scores. The cast was great, and it looked great, but it just seemed like not that much happened. I get that it's from an Austen novella and therefore less substantial than the famous novels, but I expected more somehow.
