whole lot of anti-alien angst for a world that has aliens all over the place. One would think if Superman or Supergirl said this or that fellow alien was fine that would be the end of it.

Superman doesn't give a shit about J'onn.

Seriously, if Supes knows about J'onn's situation and Cadmus you'd think he'd do something about both of them. We already know he's friends with J'onn, J'onn said it earlier.

So, Mr. Danvers is now Dubbilex?

She did a lot more than that (it's not hard to find).

I was glad they at least mentioned Clark knew about Cadmus. I have no idea why they don't have Jimmy relay more info of that nature, but I guess they want to delude Supergirl's largely non-comic book reading female viewership that her adventures on this show are entirely created for her, never seen before.

I noticed Nabisco cheapened out and wouldn't pay to have J'onn eat Oreos. They had to substitute some generic fictional brand. Most networks won't allow unpaid product usage.

I knew it. Knew Jeremiah wasn't dead. You don't cast someone like Dean Cain and have him just appear in flashbacks. It wouldn't surprise me if Alex and J'onn's rescue of Jeremiah are going to be big parts of the final few episodes & finale.

Enjoyed the flashbacks about the real Hank Henshaw and how J'onn took over for him.

at how Siobhan discovered her Silver Banshee powers.

Re: Supergirl (S1E17) -- "Manhunter" -- 3/21/16

So James Harper is supposed to be:

Spoiler:

a superhero character known as "The Guardian" (Not familiar with the comics, so don't know the character)

http://comicbook.com/2016/03/15/the-...-to-supergirl/

I suppose the character could return next season.

Good to see Eddie McClintock again since Warehouse 13 went off the air. I did play a douche bag well.

I think it's very likely that Jenna Dewan Tatum could become a regular next season. Seems like they're expanding Lucy Lane's role on the show.

Up to this point she's really been more plot device than character. Maybe they're actually going to give her something to do now. Of course if they leave her where she is now then in the long run Alex doesn't really have anything to do.

Re: Supergirl (S1E17) -- "Manhunter" -- 3/21/16

J'onn was originally addicted to Oreos in the comics. After a number of years they changed it to the fictional Chocos, almost certainly due to Oreos being a trademarked brand of Nabisco. Oreos have been retconned out of J'onn's past. DC Comics got tired of giving Nabisco free advertising. A shame but there you have it.

She's the acting head of the DEO. Alex is field agent.

If she sticks around in that capacity, it would probably change Hank/J'onn's role on the show.

Re: Supergirl (S1E17) -- "Manhunter" -- 3/21/16

I would guess Lucy does stick around in some form. They seem to be fully headed in the military versus Cadmus direction.

I'll give it to Calista Flockhart, I was prepared to hate her character when the season began. She gives the show something none of the other characters or actors provide.

They did add a slightly new wrinkle to the Superman mythology in this episode which was interesting. Kara's Earth father giving her lead-lined glasses to limit her vision in civilian clothes. That one was new to me.

Yeah, the glasses thing was pretty cool. I liked seeing J'onn's backstory.

Long haired, party girl Alex? Hawt.

For a guy living off Hallmark and tv movies, that's exactly who you call for flashbacks. :P

They got some really good kid actors that look like they could really be younger versions of Alex and Suergirl.

Re: Supergirl (S1E17) -- "Manhunter" -- 3/21/16

The short backstory for the Martian was cool. I was surprised how much of a dick they made the real Hank.

The term "Manhunter" was thrown out in this episode, but since they didn't really flesh out his back story more, many people he no idea why.

I'm hoping this new Siobhan character comes off better than the Laurel Canary on Arrow.

If Nabisco were smart they'd allow CBS to use the Oreo name for free advertising. Not sure why they wouldn't.

The lead lined glasses was a new one to me as well. Maybe Clark didn't need them because he was raised on Earth, while Kara arrived as a pre-teen?

He has history with the Superman lore from his days on Lois and Clark. It wasn't too hard to figure out that they would keep him alive for later in the season.

He's not exactly a washed up loser. He's been a steadily employed journeyman actor for 20+ years.

Exactly. Let's not pretend he was cast as anything other than a stunt based on his previous role on Smallville. Same for Helen Slater and her history as Supergirl.

You can bet that Christopher Reeve would have appeared on Supergirl if he were alive. His appearance on Smallville was one of its few shining lights.
