The mix of the TV ads looking really bad and being a Duplass Bros production makes this a miss for me. The reviews aren't helping.

When I see a trailer for a movie like this, my immediate reaction is to assume that it will either be horrible or really good, with no middle ground. The 24% RT rating strongly suggests the prior.

Kind of too bad, though. It's a really good premise. Opportunity lost.

Talk about bombing. Over 1,000 screens but only managed $420,000. It ranks as the 14th WORST opening for a wide release. Ouch.

I guess Melissa Rauch is not as big of a draw as the producers thought

I don't really think they thought Rauch was going to have enough star power to put very many people in seats. Word of mouth was going to make or break this movie since they sure haven't spent all that much money on advertising. My guess is that the studio folks say this, realized it wasn't very good, spent less promoting it and are hoping that it can make up the production costs on video.

Again, this was an awesome premise for a comedy and, had it been good, it likely would have made a lot of money. Too bad they screwed it up.

Some movies just don't need a wide release, Sony still hasn't figured that out.

But I guess the P part of P&A doesn't really apply as much in these digital times.
