The Walking Dead (S6E12) -- "Not Tomorrow Yet" -- 3/6/16

Rick and the group realize the only way to maintain the peace of Alexandria is to fight a new enemy. This time, though, our group might be outmatched.

Episode 12 of 16

Posting this early. Going to be busy most of the day tomorrow on a work assignment.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E12) -- "Not Tomorrow Yet" -- 3/6/16

Last week's episode was definitely a step in the right direction.

Going to be interesting seeing

Spoiler:
just who ends up "meeting" Lucille. The way they're highlighting several characters, and the recent shenanigans with Glenn, puts some doubt on whether they'll be following the comic. Of course, Glenn getting wacked by Negan is probably the worst kept "spoiler" of all time, so they might just be messing with us.

Also, can't wait for another 60 seconds of people on Flight 462 looking around nervously.

Yeah, I already saw 'Flight of the Living Dead'. But I guess it's better than having them throw these little clips on their own rather than some weird flashback during the actual show.

Opening with Carol had a Fallout feel to it.

Great episode.

They're really teasing those of "in the know."

Another bit of really heavy fore-shadowing if you know what to look for.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E12) -- "Not Tomorrow Yet" -- 3/6/16

Good ep. The group really seems to be going places we never thought they would go, and the coming weeks might bare some pennance for their actions. I also feel that
Spoiler:
Glenn falling prey to Negan and Lucille at this point would not pack that much of a surprise. I think most people have caught wind of it at one point or another and they feel any time Glenn doesn't die he is just being saved for Negan. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I think they might very well up the ante and have Negan take out someone with Glenn. It might be Maggie, as Lauren Cohan has cut her hair and actors on this show seldom change their looks unless they're on the way out. The again, it could be that Glenn dies and this is Maggie transforming into a bad ass.
.

Not really a spoiler: good to see Alicia Witt back on TV.

Carol all of a sudden getting a conscience seems like the writers are trying to give her redemption so I think she might be the one who takes Glenns spot. She seemed very out of character in this episode.
What was with all the pictures of the faceless people on one of the Saviors wall?

So... The woman on the radio at the end... Can we assume that she's the much talked-about Lucille?

This show trying to act like Breaking Bad with that opening sequence. Although if it were Breaking Bad they'd show random camera angles of the acorns from inside the oven and shit like that.

...a montage? No, that's been around a while.

Loved this episode - it's great when the crew kicks ass.

Yes, the montage. It's the vibe I got from the editing and the music used in the montage, in case that wasn't clear.

Agreed that the episode was pretty good.

Was there a new/different/guest director for this episode? Things seemed way different. Different lighting, mood, blood on the camera lens, etc...

HATE the songs coming on 3 minutes before the end. Unless it's a character playing the song on a cd player or something where it fits into the storyline (i.e. Darryl's brother cranking up Motorhead before he buys it), it's annoying and totally takes the viewer out of the moment.

It was Greg Nicotero who's done more than a few already.

It doesn't bother me much. Fairly typical thing on most dramas.

I would think there would probably be more music in the world than what we currently see. Electricity works, iPods would work, CD players would work. I'm just surprised we don't see more of it.

I do wonder sometimes if GPS devices and sat phones would still work too.

Alicia Witt's character was calm and controlled. Lucille is somewhat batty.

Why is Talking Dead addressing whether or not Rick and bunch crossed the line? The Saviors already ran into Abraham, Sasha, and Daryll and almost killed two of them.

Yeah, I expect Lucelle's acting to be far more wooden than what Alicia Witt's acting chops can swing.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess it was the matter of killing them while they slept
