Just saw this coming in.
Really sad and she really stood by her man all these years with his illness.
It was recent she said on a TV interview that he was 'doing well' but she was obviously being strong.

It was reported that he was on a feeding tube recently. Really sad especially that Celine's 3 sons are growing up without their father.
She has shows at Caesars Palace scheduled through the summer. I fully expect her to cancel the next several.

Celine Dion's husband's long battle with cancer ended Thursday morning ... he died at their home in Las Vegas.
Rene Angelil was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. His health got so bad last year that Celine took a leave of absence from her Las Vegas show to take care of him.
Sources close to Celine tell us Rene's death was completely unexpected because recently he's felt much better. In fact, we're told he and Celine had planned business meetings together for today.
We've learned Celine has already cancelled the 2 shows she was scheduled to do at Caesars Palace this weekend. She's set to return on Feb. 23rd.

Man, cancer is sure having its way with the entertainment world these last couple weeks. I may not be into her music, but I've seen over the years how dedicated they are to each other. I wish her well. It's a genuine bitch to lose a loved one to something like cancer, and have to watch them suffer.

Poor Celine. 
She's a bit of an little odd diva, but she loved her husband very deeply and featured pictures of him prominently in her Vegas show (which was REALLY good, BTW). Rene put up a heck of a fight against an aggressive cancer.
BTW : Ironically, it was Rene's heavy gambling debts that birthed the Celene residency at Caeser's in the first place (and changed Vegas entertainment in the process).

Two days after losing her husband Rene Angelil, Celine Dion's brother, Daniel, has died from cancer at the age of 59. The sad news was confirmed by the office of Céline Dion's publicist, Francine Chaloult, on Jan. 16.
Celine has 13 siblings and one of her sisters, Claudette Dion, told Le Journal de Montréal on Jan. 15 that Daniel had terminal cancer of the throat, tongue and brain was currently hospitalized. Claudette also said that their family, including their 89-year-old mother Therese, was at his side.
"It's very painful," she said. "It's a matter of days or hours."

What a shitty week for Celine and her family. Wouldn't surprise me that she takes a long extended leave of absence from performing. Couldn't imagine the feeling of losing the love of your life and your older sibling in 1 week.

It was weird I saw her perform All the Way on the Sinatra 100 special and she was emotional and the next day her husband dies.
