Alan Rickman RIP (Dead at 69)

Just read this a moment ago. What the hell is happening this year. Great actor. He was fantastic as Hans Gruber and Snape, but was always worth watching in whatever he appeared in.

Just seen it too. Dammit! First Bowie and now Rickman. Both 69. Both to bloody cancer. Sad start to the year.

Happy trails Hans.

Ugh. This one sucks. Die Hard is my favorite film and Hans is one of the best villains. And tghat doesnt even begin to talk about his other roles.

Re: Alan Rickman RIP (Dead at 69)

Man, what a great actor. That's a real shame - he had so much more to give as an actor, and I'm sure his family and friends would tell you that he had a lot more to give as a human being, too.

Geez, 69 years old? Not nearly old enough to go.

His work will live on, though. We just watched Die Hard a few weeks ago. He helped make that an absolute classic. Without him it isn't nearly as good.

Re: Alan Rickman RIP (Dead at 69)

Not a good week for 69-year old sexy British men beloved by the geek community. Someone send a doctor to check on Tim Curry!

I'll miss Rickman. Like others have said, Die Hard is just such an iconic role. And he was amazing in so many other movies. One of my favorites was his (intentionally) scenery-chewing performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood.

Shit. I have at most 29 years left on this earth is what this tells me. I'm in nowhere near the shape that this guy was in.

Cancer doesn't care what shape you're in. William Shatner is 85 years old and hardly in great shape, Andy Whitfield only made it to 39 and he was ripped.

I have to concur about this being an awful week. RIP.

I think my favorite role of his was his voice as Marvin in the Hitchhiker's Guide movie.

Yeah, Lemmy outlived Bowie and Rickman, who woulda guessed? (Rickman died about 6 weeks younger, David Bowie a full year).
