RIP. Saw this earlier today. Had read in a magazine a few weeks back that he was suffering from demential and had little time left. Never noticed that he carried a pack of cigarettes like that when I watched it as a kid.

ODAAT was a great show back in the day. It ran for I believe nine seasons, but it's mostly forgotten now and has been rarely rerun on television for decades.

....and only the first season is on DVD. One of the better shows of it's time(according to it's tv ratings).

RIP Schneider

I caught One Day at a Time during the tail end of it's run and in repeats. He was a funny guy. Man, how time flies. 86!!

Sad that he and Bonnie Franklin are now gone. With all her drug and alcohol abuse in her younger years, you would have thought MacKenzie Phillips would have died 1st.

Watched ODAAT as a kid and remember finding Schneider hilarious.

Think about it: A lecherous middle-aged man who keeps making uninvited entrances into the apartment of a single woman and her two teenage daughters.

And people are freaked out about watching Cosby Show reruns!

The digital sub-channel, Antenna TV, will be airing a marathon of Schneider themed episodes of One Day at a Time Saturday (1/9/16):

In commemoration of Pat Harrington, Jr., who passed away (Wednesday), Antenna TV is airing 18 episodes of One Day at a Time centered on his character, Dwayne F. Schneider, starting at 1p ET on Saturday, January 9th.
One Day at a Time regularly airs Mon-Sat on Antenna TV.

He was the voice of The Inspector, the Clouseau-inspired character, in the theatrical cartoons.
