Star Citizen question
To those who played Freelancer and Privateer, how similar is SC to those old Chris Roberts games? I'm curious about SC but also a little put off. It looks like he's turning it into an overcomplex monstrosity rather than just ship it and is letting feature creep take it over.
I love the nature of Freelancer though, and would jump on board a modern version in a heartbeat.

Re: Star Citizen question
It's more of a simulator than it is an arcade space flying game. It's been a while since I've played the game, but there was definitely a learning curve. I've heard that because of the gimballed weapons, using a mouse/keyboard to aim/fly is actually easier than using a joystick.
I originally backed the game on Kickstarter since I wanted a modern Wing Commander type game. I'm still looking forward to Squadron 42, though like you I worry that it might just be too complex to enjoy.
I'm still undecided on whether I'll bother with the persistent world.
