F Is for Family (Netflix) -- Series Thread -- c: Bill Burr

This new animated show dropped this week on Netflix.

Caught the first two eps, pretty good stuff from Bill Burr. Set in the 70s.

Only 6 eps, but a great quick binge.

I like it. I watched the first 4 on Sunday but didn't get a chance to finish it yet. It's nothing too special. It's basically trying to be a classic 70's sitcom with some R-rated behavior attached. A lot of it seems like "That 70's Show" but from Red's (the dad) perspective.

Bill Burr is great.

Someone must have put a magnet on my TV, because I found this to be damn near unwatchable. One dimensional supporting characters and a lead who is just a loudmouthed asshole.

Yeah, I didn't care for this either. I think I may have laughed once. It didn't help that it seemed like all the voices sounded like characters from other shows (the one kid sounded like the kid from King of the Hill, for example, and another character sounded like Phil Hartman on the Simpsons.) I thought the only thing unique about that show was that it was set in the 1970's but even that wasn't really used to good advantage. I found the ongoing storyline about the unionization pretty dull also.

Eh. I liked it well enough for 6 25 minute episodes. Definitely nothing special though.

Here's hoping for less hairy sack this time around. I do like that they're setting each season of the show in a different season of the year -- spring, winter...

I really like this. Watched the first few eps today.

I think the cursing is unrealistic and way over the top.

I caught S2 ep 1, I don't know why, but I like this show.

Didn't know this was returning until a few weeks ago, so I'm glad I have a new season to check out. Nothing spectacular, but I'm a fan of Bill Burr.

Re: F Is for Family (Netflix) -- Series Thread -- c: Bill Burr

I'm loving F is for Family, and want to commend Bill Burr for coming up with an original show. I was beginning to think stand-up comics were only capable of creating shows about stand-up comics.

The only thing that bugs me is how fast the credits go by. There are a lot of familiar sounding voices that pop up, but when they list the names at the end they flash by in about a second and a half. Someone should remind the producers they aren't on TV and can't afford to waste precious showtime. They could make the end credits five minutes long if they wanted.

I'm so-so on Bill Burr. But really like this show.

Shit that was a good final moment to end on.
