Hey,
im using a PS3 to play my DVD movies.
I start a movie tonight then i stop it, i top the PS3 and unplug the power cord.
The next night i connect it back i start the movie and the movie resume for where i stop it since the last night.

Why this is not working with Blue rays?
I will have to go through all intros and then i have to pass all scenes to find the one i stopped.

This is a problem with the BD-Java format. Because of the BD Java, none of the Blu-rays will resume playing where you let off like the DVD does.

Some Blu rays support resume, but in order to do it, it has to be a feature that they programmed into the disc. It's not something that the player can do on its own like it does with DVD's. And even then you still have to bypass the trailers and reach the menu before you can resume. Sometimes you even have to push play before it will tell you that the movie has been watched before and ask if you want to resume where you left off, so if you're not aware of the feature and assume you have to start chapter searching once you reach the menu, you lose your resume point as soon as you do that.

It's annoying that all blue rays don't resume. I understand why they don't, but it is still annoying. Feels like a step backwards, since all dvds had that ability.

It certainly is annoying and the Sony (Blu-ray) folks didn't care about what consumers wanted.

Can't wait for 4K Blu-ray features!

To my surprise, my Young Justice blu-ray set has the feature where it continues to play where it left off. I'm using my PS3 and PS4 to play this set.

Keep in mind that only Blu-rays that use BD-J have to program bookmarking to resume onto the disc. Otherwise, BDs that use the simpler HDMV menu format can resume automatically.
