Damn that's a good price for people who don't own the seasons or complete series set already. Under a dollar an episode plus the bonus disc and items. Kind of stinks knowing that I paid $20 or more a pop for all of the seasons but its one of my favorite shows.

There was a bonus disc at some point (I think with the final season stand-alone set) that contained the Mythbusters episode. That's the only extra missing here.

I ended up just buying it from Amazon Video last year so I wouldn't miss out on any extras, but really it isn't that great.

Hang in there for the X-Files set in a future Fox Connect sale. They usually split the sales by genres throughout the year (only rarely do site-wide), so look for the tv sets at 50% off. Every time I've missed out, I've managed to catch them during a subsequent sale.

That is a great price. I was able to snag all the individual seasons on sale, but I still probably spent at least $95 on them.

Great. Sounds like the only difference between this set and the barrel set is the extra chach that only seems to add cost, and not value.

For those on the fence in the future:

This may ave the worst packaging I've ever seen for a megabucks box.

Discs are all in cardboard slits, no tray, no innersleeve. The "bonus disc" is jammed into a slot so thin it literally took 5 minutes to get it out & that caused fingerprints & at least 1 scratch.

The other discs tend to fall out of the slots (& end up on the couch or the floor) if that season is out of the big box.

I put all discs in Japanese rice paper inner sleeves to prevent future scratching, but i haven't had the courage to check each disc to see if it was already scratched.

I bought the slim series set and I haven't had a single issue with any of the discs. Well worth the price.

I didn't have any problems viewing the first time, but I agree with this statement. The bonus disc didn't come out damaged, but it was a pain to get it out.

The Shield: Complete Series was easily the worst. Beautifully decorated, terrible slits.

After I wrote the above, I noticed quite a few Amazon reviews about defective discs including in replacement sets, so I'm trying to play mine asap. It's going to take awhile........ so far D1 is ok through 2 episodes.

I just saw the entire series about a year ago, I wasn't planning out putting it at the top of the "watch me" pile.............

While it would be nice to have everything in a nice small package, the aggravation of the packaging on this one makes me glad I got the individual season sets as I found them for cheap.

Yeah, I also had bit on all the deals on individual seasons, so don't really need the double dip. I was wondering how much I paid though and added up the total for all six seasons (S1 and S2 at Best Buy for $12.80; S3 and S4 for $12 EACH at Amazon, and S5 and Final Season at Amazon for $9.99 EACH) and it was close to $57, so this would have been cheaper, but I needed to catch up before season 5 started, as I had not seen the show before that..
