I don't really understand why it's coming out in December. They should wait until January so you don't lose viewers over the holidays...

MTV announced today the new season of "The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines" will premiere on Wednesday, December 2 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. This season just got VERY personal. We've seen rivals, exes, veterans, rookies, and even free agents earn their victories on The Challenge. Now, fourteen players from MTV series will travel to Bodrum, Turkey to join the people who know their toughest strengths, crippling weaknesses, and deepest fears better than anyone -- their own flesh and blood. In this unprecedented format, competitors will battle it out WITH and AGAINST their bloodlines, turning family into foe. This shake-up gets even more twisted when players learn that their fates are combined with their bloodlines'. It's anyone's game when family still means everything, because despite strong performances, competitors could still go home if their relatives fall short. With $350,000 on the line and family honor to defend, there will be blood. Join the cast and get to know the new faces as the veterans of 'The Challenge,' 'The Real World,' and 'Are You The One?' introduce their bloodlines and gear up for the most dramatic season yet premiering on the MTV App on November 9th and airing on MTV on November 18th at 10:00pm ET/PT.

Bananna's has to be the oldest person on these shows now. Those dudes have some hideous looking tattooes.

Kelly Anne still looks really great. Too bad she ruined herself a bit with the fake boobs.

I love that I set my DVR to record a challenge about 8 years ago, and every year I check my recordings and a new challenge episode appears. It doesn't matter what they call the challenge that season.

Nose ring aside, I thought the sister of the girl who went home was kind of cute, but whatever. Nany's cousin looks like a clown with those eyebrows.
By putting on relatives they are kind of doubling down on people that I don't know.
Cara Maria said last month that if you were ever a fan of hers that you wouldn't be after this season. She seemed pretty embarrassed. FWIW, she still lives in Montana; she didn't move back to Boston.

I don't mind new people, a lot of the regulars came from Fresh Meat and with other MTV reality shows struggling at least it brings in people with an automatic connection.
First episode was a bit typical, but the previews look like a lot of twists come up as far as rule changes and new teams being brought in.

Every year I watch this it makes me have less hope in humanity... and I'm only a few years older than some of these people. But I can't look away!

It was decent enough first episode, they brought a little crazy and there seems to be fertile ground for the nonsensical drama to prosper.

It's too bad Laurel and her bloodline pulled out last minute so those 2 chicks replaced them. Would have been interesting seeing all the women in fear of Laurel. Right now the only threat is Cara Maria and Camilla.

I'd have loved to see Laurel too, sounds like she pulled out for some new health waivers that MTV wanted according to her twitter. The mix of co-ed teams seems interesting though - Leroy is fucked in that regard!

I finally saw the first episode and was repulsed by it. This show has always walked a fine line, but now there's not even a guilty pleasure in watching it or an appreciation for the challenges, which were usually pretty intense. It's literally bad people doing bad things for the entire episode.
I've always liked Cara and tweeted to her at lunch, fully expecting her to ignore my suggestion that the show was now literally garbage. She favorited the tweet, so I assume maybe even some of the vets are noticing things have really gone from bad to worse.
I mean, I wonder what kind of insane form they wanted Laurel to sign off on that made her walk away from something she clearly likes to do and is also pretty damned good at.
Maybe this show is on its last legs.
