MacGyver reboot -- Coming to CBS Fall 2016
The reboot insanity continues. Set to be on CBS (not ABC) this time around.

I loved MacGyver, and look forward to watching them with my son when he is older. I'm also cool with a reboot, at least in theory. There isn't much information, so I'll wait to see what they come up with, and what actor will play the lead.

Is it time to stop calling these reboots and start calling them continuations? They sure could follow the adventures of a young MacGuyver, son of RDA and Terry Hatcher's character perhaps.

I always thought the original was a fun show. I'd check out a reboot.
I just watched the original pilot on Amazon Prime and I was surprised to see that it was directed by Alan Smithee. I wonder what happened there. It was also weird to see Macgyver firing a gun.

Fuck CBS. As soon as Person of Interest is done, I won't watch another one of their shows ever. They are too quick to kill good shows, so my viewing time will go to other networks.

I don't know the reasons behind it, but Jerrold Freedman directed the pilot episode, obviously deciding he wasn't happy enough to use his real name.

George Eads (CSI) cast in the show, but not as the title character.

X-Men alum Lucas Till has been tapped to take on the character that was originally made famous by Richard Dean Anderson, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, Joshua Boone has joined the drama pilot as a series regular.
CBS' MacGyver is described as a reimagining of the television series of the same name. It follows a 20-something MacGyver (Till) as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.

The network refused to buy him a windmill.

He did not. IIRC The Phoenix Foundation did not start until S2 (with Pete Thornton bringing him in). I think he was simply a secret agent for some unnamed government agency in S1.

Apparently the Pilot is being completely re-shot. Only George Eads and the kid are being retained. They are re-casting the rest.

Pretty sure Mac was never that cocky. Think I'd rather this be his son, and not some Flashback.
Liked the lady in the truck, but sounds like she's getting recast.
Bet $10 by the end of the first season they introduce that crazy villain that never seemed to die.
I'd love to know the economies of Hollywood. This had to of cost a million dollars, yet they're going to reshoot the entire thing and "make" money.

Apparently CBS likes to throw away money unless they were really not happy with how this version turned out.
