I can't get that link to load but I'm guessing The Guardian only gave it 2 stars? Pretty clever.

The Guardian: I'm not even mad. That's impressive.

That's what you get for being a douchebag reviewer, aka failed English/lit major and journalist.

Good actor but I get bad vibes from any movie which puts an actor in dual character roles.

It doesn't end well for the picture in most cases.

That is funny. I know a thing or two about trashing movies that deserve it.

Tatiana Maslany would disagree

It'd be more impressive if the drop quote were taken out of context. "The bad acting is more unmissable than an iceberg in the Titanic's path. The movie is a British classic of awful cinema, right up there with Carry On and that film Guy Ritchie made with Madonna."

So the reviewer says he hated the movie, yet still gave it two stars. Whatever happened to 0 stars? Was Amazon finally able to completely remove the phrase "0 stars" from the English language?

Once you get into regular reviewing mode, it gets very difficult to assign a zero score. I have only done it a handful of times and even then I feel a bit guilty about it. Most movies take hundreds of people working over several months/years to complete. Usually there is something for someone in the audience to like about a film, albeit on a very small level.

The only movies I've rated 0 stars are movies that look like they're shot on a VHS camcorder.

Most recent contender:

But even that had nice special effects.

I gave Human Centipede 3 zero stars for the film itself. Unfortunately, the video and audio were great. Since I average out my reviews for the Summary there's no way that a Zero rated film with stellar video/audio can also rank as a zero. It would make no sense.

I can understand that 0 stars is a rating saved for very few movies. You both have said that you have given some, very few, movies 0 star ratings. The reviewer at the guardian said he hated the movie, yet gave it 2 stars. 2 stars doesn't say hate to me. Obviously it changes whether it is out of 4 or 5 stars, but a 2 star review, to me, says the movie wasn't great, but passable. Certainly not something that someone hated. If you two "hated" a movie, would you still give it 2 stars?

1 star for each brother's performance.

It would depend on a number of things like genre and if I believed there was an audience for that movie. While I can enjoy most anything, I know there is an audience out there for horror musicals. They do nothing for me on a personal level, so something like that may get two stars even if I personally thought it was garbage.

Agreed. A review is your own personal opinion. If the movie was garbage and you HATED it, why give it a 2 star? Even if there is an audience for the movie or something, to you it didn't keep your attention, maybe the characters or writing was awful, etc. and you hate it. 2 stars show the movie is average.

I've always liked this- from the insert of "Freddy Got Fingered", one of my favorite Worst Picture winners:
