Surprised there wasn't a thread on this. Based on the old sci-fi novel, some disaster destroyed most of the people on earth.
I watched the trailer and looks pretty good. Only 3 actors in the whole film.
Anyone seen this? I see it's on VOD. Was thinking about watching it. I'll watch anything Ejiofor is in.

Just spent $7.99 on DirecTV to order this. Well worth the money. It seems like most of the In Theaters/Before Theaters stuff you can already watch at home is garbage.
Unfortunately, it's not on many screens in actual theaters, but it's pretty damn good.
This is simply a character study with just three actors (although I believe just the leads (Ejiofor & Robbie's characters) are in the book.
The film only runs 90 minutes, and I enjoyed every minute of it. When the movie ends, I wanted more.
I'm going to watch again, but feel like the director could have done more with this. Also you have to appreciate the journey and not the end. There are multiple unanswered questions near the end that will probably piss some people off.
Ejiofor was great as usual, and I think Margot Robbie (who still looks good even though she's not all made up) handled the southern accent well. Chris Pine is better here than in most of the stuff I've seen him in.
I enjoyed the movie a little bit more when it was just Ejiofor and Robbie on screen together.
There will probably be a few things that people nitpick on since this is an end of the world picture, but sometimes you just have to suspend your disbelief.
Highly recommended, although will probably be a slow burn to some.

When this ended I wanted more... way more. Kinda slow at times, but never really boring... if that makes sense.
I enjoyed it, great rental from iTunes.

There was a movie like this I think it was made somewhere in the '60 I saw on tv as a kid. It's was a end of the world type movie with just three people 2 men (1 white and 1 black) and 1 woman. Wish I knew what was the name of the movie. It's kind of bugging me.

Looks like this is already coming out on home video in October. A worthy purchase, IMO.

I watched this the other night and was pleasantly surprised with only 3 characters and not boring me to death.
The end had me wanting more like others, but I'm good with assuming on my own.
It took me a while to really realize I was watching Margot Robbie. She did a really job in this.
I never read the book so I wasn't going in with any info. With that, I didnt need to know what happened other than the shit hit the fan and now I'm seeing the story of these 2 develop and watch a 3rd wheel come in and make it interesting.

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this, but I ended up really liking it. The acting was top notch! I'm definitely considering checking out the book now.
