Oscar Isaac

He has been around the industry for a while and played numerous supporting roles over the years but is he on the verge of becoming a huge star?

He has that look where he could play play any kind of ethnicity.

He also has a HBO mini-series premiering in August and some small indie film directed by JJ Abrams coming out in December

Re: Oscar Isaac

he's also in the new X-Men movie (although heavily in makeup). but yeah, if his character in Episode 7 lives to see Episode 8 then the guy is going to hit a new stratosphere of stardom.

Re: Oscar Isaac

He is one of the few young actors who have the looks, and can actually act too. Most young actors in Hollywood are just another pretty face, but can't act for shit and we never hear from them again. I have always said that he will be the breakout star of Episode 7 as he sounds like he is going to be the Han Solo character of the new trilogy.

I've seen him recently in A Most Violent Year and Ex Machina and liked him in both.

Huge star? Probably not.

Celebrated actor? Probably. He's consistently really good.

That guy in the Jumpstreet and Magic Mike movies (You know the name but not worth mentioning) though it seems like he won't go away.

He's Guatemalan.
I saw that. At first when I first saw him a couple of years ago I thought he was from the Middle East and changed his name.

He is good friends with Jessica Chastian. I wonder if he hit that?

Re: Oscar Isaac

I thought his original song "Never Had" in 10 Years was the highlight of that film.

Re: Oscar Isaac

I'm in the boat that says Isaac is going to be the breakout star of the new trilogy. He's a heck of a good actor already, and being in Star Wars is only going to help him get bigger and better roles.

That sounds like what people said about Natalie Portman circa 1998.

And what wasn't true about that? Oscar winner.

One of my favorite actors. He always seems to choose/get interesting film roles.

Eventually, but no thanks to Star Wars. She's been pretty outspoken about how those films hindered her career.

Portman tells NY Magazine, "Star Wars had come out around the time of Seagull, and everyone thought I was a horrible actress... I was in the biggest-grossing movie of the decade, and no director wanted to work with me.
I doubt the same will honestly happen to Isaac, Shannon's wording just struck me as funny.

Re: Oscar Isaac

Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada

Coño about time Hollywood lets another Latin brother in.

Next up Isaac will be in a Spanish language film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu co-starring Javier Bardem, Benicio Del Toro & Gael Garcia Bernal

Re: Oscar Isaac

This guy is one of my favorites right now. He's a chameleon, able to take on work in various genres effortlessly and look perfect for the role each time. I hope he continues to have a successful career.

You obviously skipped Sucker Punch which is the first movie I saw him in. Thank goodness he's made better choices since.

He's 36, which isn't exactly young. Probably better to become a star a bit later in your career though, so best of luck to him.

Wait. Is it just me or is he a more suave looking David Krumholtz
