From executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”) comes USA’s newest, highly-anticipated drama COLONY. Set in the very near future, COLONY centers on one family’s struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles. SAG winner Josh Holloway (“Lost”) stars as former FBI agent Will Bowman and Satellite Award winner Sarah Wayne Callies (“The Walking Dead”) stars as his wife, Katie, in the series which takes place in a dangerous world of divided ideologies. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel and suffer the consequences. After being separated from their son during the invasion, Will and Katie are willing to do whatever is necessary to be reunited with him. Thus, when the powerful Proxy Snyder (Peter Jacobson, “House”) offers Will a chance to get his son back if he will collaborate with the occupational government, Will and Katie find themselves faced with the toughest decision of their lives. They will have to go beyond whatever they thought possible, risking their lives and their relationship to protect their family.
COLONY is a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions. Nelson McCormick (“24”) also executive produces.

10 episode science fiction drama. Airs this Fall on USA. This is the trailer that was shown at Comic Con.

Carlton Cuse as some of you know is the Producer of Bates Motel, The Strain and formerly Lost.

Carlton Cuse is the co-creator of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.!!! I'm starting to doubt that he'll ever reach such lofty heights again though.

I honestly don't know what to think about it because the previews have been very meh, but I'll still give it a few episodes.

Comcast OnDemand had a free preview of the pilot and I thought it was pretty good.

Reminded me of "V" combined with "Red Dawn" and a little "Amerika" (the Soviet invasion miniseries from the 80s. Mariel Hemingway anyone? Anyone?)

A lot of it felt really derivative, (OMG a certain person is working for the other side!), but it might be pretty good if they can up the complexity of the plotlines beyond just invaders/resistance.

Is the promo photo intended to imply Will and Katie are on different sides?

Sawyer's back. Holloway's short-lived (with a short haircut) show on CBS don't count.

They sure gave this show a shitty timeslot. If I hadn't been watching Smackdown I would have missed this.

I enjoyed it. I'll give it a go.
I wonder. Was it implied the son was dead and in a cemetery?

That was pretty bad. The show certainly might get better but starting out of the gates with such a dull premiere wasn't very smart.

I sort of liked it. It wasn't spectacular or anything, but it was definitely interesting. Peter Jacobson as the slimy mayor guy was perfect.

I enjoyed the pilot. There was definitely a 'V' vibe to it. More than the plot, I really liked the cast and thought they all clicked together very easily.

Falling Skies but better. (Throw in some V/Childhoods End perhaps.)

So far so good, we'll give it an episode or two to see how the sides contend with each other. Interested to see in the mythology if the entire country/world is divided up and what are they launching (?) into space?

I will say if they give us any bullshit Lost type stuff about not revealing what is going on with the aliens and the wall in the 1st season, I'll ditch this shit. I don't have time to be wasting on a show that never gives answers.

For once, I'd love for a show to just come right out and reveal all there is to know, with regards to the aliens. Then, without all the unnecessary tip toeing around that issue, they could really focus on the characters, and the struggles they're having.

Also, a nice appearance by Sheriff Mills at the end there...

re: Colony (USA) -- S: Holloway, Callies -- Series Thread

Watched this last night. I enjoyed it. Set up a potentially interesting story.

Really want to know more about this occupation of Los Angeles and what's beyond the wall. Hopefully future weeks will get to that.

At least this show isn't as corny as Holloway's last one on CBS.

Curious why the wife needed to steal insulin for her nephew and tried buying some that was a bad knockoff. I wonder if the occupation cut off medical care/treatment for the residents of LA. I do give them credit in the casting. Amanda Righetti and Sarah Wayne Callies can pass off as sisters.

Good to see Brass from CSI back on TV!! Looks like Holloway's wife is part of a rebel group.
