It debuts on Spike, August 10th at 10 p.m. Eastern.

According to www.iamchrisfarley.com, it will also be released to some theaters and available to purchase on DVD and BD after the television premiere.



Hard to believe he's been gone for so long. He'd be 51 if he were still alive. I wonder if he would have been able to maintain the physical nature of his comedy.

Looks great. He never failed to make me laugh on SNL. I must've watched Tommy Boy a thousand times or more by now. I remember when he died and how upset I was by the news. I really wish we could've seen what else he had up his sleeve had he not passed. I think he would've shown some great dramatic chops later on in life too; I remember being really interested in his Fatty Arbuckle biopic that never materialized. Has anyone actually heard the lines he recorded as Shrek?

Looks great. I'm another one that watched Tommy Boy all the time. His death hit me pretty hard at the time. He was ridiculously funny.

I like Farley to an extent but think he's somewhat overrated. I was always more of a John Candy fan for a funny big guy. Still the documentary looks interesting and has some interesting people being interviewed.

I saw this on EW's site and it looks good. I read the biography, The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts, a few years ago and I still have the book. It contained a lot of stories from Chris' friends and relatives. I might re-read the book, before watching the documentary.

CNN did that with the Roger Ebert documentary.

I see in the credits on the website that they are a co-producer of the film, so I'm not sure. I mean they do have to add commercial time.

I've always been a huge fan of Chris Farley. It only made it easier knowing that he was a genuinely nice guy in real life. It seemed that one of his major flaws was that he tried too hard to please everyone.

I'll definitely check out the documentary, though I have my doubts it'll shed any new light on anything I didn't already know.

I think at the least, they will censor cuss words. I also noticed the same thing about the Roger Ebert documentary. OWN and Discovery ID also did the same thing with several documentaries they aired before they were put on Netflix.

Don't get me wrong as I loved Chris Farley (Tommy Boy is one of my favorite comedies), but I feel he was a bit overrated as a comedian. All he could really do is fat guy jokes, and that's is why I can't put him up there with some of the great comedians.

Now he pulled off a fat guy better then anyone (Chippendale's sketch on SNL is probably top 10 of all-time), and the man who 'lived in a van down by the river....' was a great sketch too. The only non-fat funny sketch by Farley that I can think of off the top my head was when he would interview people like Scorcese and would stutter and get all nervous.

Still looking forward to tonight's special.

It was a nice overview of Farley's life and career. Not overly focused on his substance abuse problems. Basically a lot of talking heads remembering how talented Farley was, and what a genuinely nice guy he was. Always pleasant to spend a little time remembering someone who made us laugh No depth to the piece at all. Perfect for watching for free.

Overall evaluation: NICE
