Southpark early seasons now HD?

I own all the Southpark sets so have not viewed the Comedy Central episodes in a while but did see them recently and could not help but notice the early seasons are full screen and look great!

What gives, I thought early seasons are only SD and on DVDs

They were, but since all the episodes we're assembled in a computer, they have been able to go back and re-do them in HD.

Yeah I guess it would be that simple

So blu-ray releases eventually? Watching my DVD's of early episodes v.s. the one on Comedy makes my collection look like VHS

Hrmmm. I'm assuming Hulu doesn't have those, yes? I saw a few early episodes about a month ago. Still looked SD but maybe I was just looking at how rough in how they made them, I dunno.

I doubt it. The remastered early seasons in HD will likely remain limited to streaming video.

The "Good Times With Weapons" episode was done as a test for this, and released on a combo HD-DVD available at Best Buy with purchase of an XBox game system. However it keeps everything in the 16x9 ratio, when the 4x3 version goes to 2.35 for the 'fantasy' scenes.

The Good Times with Weapons HD DVD was originally a free promotional tie-in with the purchase of an XBox 360. However, Best Buy later expanded to promotional and gave away copies to anyone who asked for one.
