American Ultra (8/21/15 S: Eisenberg, Stewart)

Seems like a different take on The Long Kiss Goodnight... looks fun and interesting.

Saw the trailer last night and by the end of it I thought to myself, now those are the last 2 people I would think would be in a movie as interesting and cool looking as this.

They're both pretty good actors. Just always pigeonholed cuz of a franchise, for Stewart, or their personalities.

They seem to give away in the trailer that Stewart is an agent too. So now I've seen the movie. Cool!

I saw that. It was just a shot but maybe she's just shooting it and not being an agent?

It doesn't matter what she's in, Stewart is just a terrible actress. No charisma whatsoever.

I do like Eisenberg though, so

It looks like Chuck and The Bourne Identity had a three way with a Seth Rogan stoner flick. Looks good.

And what have you seen her in? Stewart was good in Still Alice. Clouds of Sils Maria and Camp X-Ray seemed to show that she can act too. Just depends in what she's in but she's a good actress.

I haven't seen her in anything except Snow White and The Huntsman (I know she's famous for the Twilight movies, but to be honest, I'm single, so I don't have to watch them ), but she's gotten good reviews for On the Road, Camp X-Ray, The Runaways, Adventureland, Meet the Rileys, and Still Alice. That's just going by critical buzz, mind.

The trailer makes it look like the movie almost entirely takes place in the supermarket where he works and its parking lot. Definitely rips off LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, though, which I've always felt should be remade with Angelina Jolie, not because the Geena Davis movie wasn't awesome (because it is), but because I want to see Angelina do that part.

Just saw the trailer for this tonight and it was great. It's a stoner version of Bourne Identity. I'm in. Oh, and it's most certainly going to be rated R.

I hate that Angelina Jolie didn't do a few more action flicks in her younger years, I feel like she could have done better than two tomb raiders, Mr/Mrs Smith, Wanted and Salt, since she has the perfect look for a bad ass action hero -- I just want to her get an actual iconic role of some sort -- of course, she's only 40 (well, as of tomorrow).

I always assumed that she hoped that the Lara Croft would push her into that, and when it didn't do well, she went another way.

Been seeing the commercial for this a lot lately. Looks like it could be fun, but I can't stand Topher Grace. Though if he's playing the villain here, we may get to see him killed.

I liked Eisenberg and Stewart in Adventureland; this looks like it could be interesting.

The TV ads make it look terrible, but the concept could be fun.

I just noticed Max Landis wrote this... I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Why's that? because his dad wrote The Blues Brothers? Or because his other work hasn't been good? (I've only seen Chronicle which was surprisingly solid).

I liked Chronicle.

The stuff he posts on social media annoys me.

It isn't really a comment on the quality of work, although there isn't much to judge that on yet. He does have a number of projects coming out soon.
