Bummer, sad news. Hard to believe his acting career spanned 7 decades.

Sad news. When I was a kid I used to think his name was Rosco Pecoe Train.

Was just looking at a blu-ray review for "Hooper" yesterday and noticed him in the screenshots,
I wondered if he was still alive and looked him up on IMDB - and he was... until today.

Our family has enjoyed his roles in lots of older shows. We just recently caught a few episodes of The Andy Griffith Show which featured Best.

He was a larger than life figure to the 8-year-old version of myself. I enjoyed him and Boss Hog more than the actual Dukes brothers. I can still hear his patented delivery echo in my head even though I haven't watched that show since the 1980s.

Rest in peace Roscoe, you finally caught the General Lee.

You mean that wasn't his name? I thought the same thing too.

I met him as a kid at a World Of Wheels show where I also saw the General Lee. He or some of the other Dukes actors usually came to those in my town once a year in the early 80's. Daisy was fucking hot back then, lordy.

Anyway, I hope he and Flash are happy & together again!
