Looking forward to this very much despite never having much interest in DD's comics.

Some reviews are coming in. They seem exceptionally positive:

This is probably a stupid question, but there isn't any other legal way to watch this other than subscribing to Netflix, is there? Will this ever get a DVD/BD home release?

Several Netflix shows have gotten home releases, this likely will too. But your best option would probably be to sign up for a one month or whatever free trial Netflix has available, binge watch and then cancel.

Most Netflix shows do get released on DVD/BD. I would expect Disney wanting to cash in on these every way they can and release them that way at a later date. Until then, only able to legally view on Netflix.

I'm going to bet that most of the nerds here will spend 13 hours watching the entire season next Friday. Unless you have to work.

Worst case scenario, most of you will finish the season by Saturday night.

Just use a free 2 week trial and watch all of it really quickly and then purchase on DVD/BD when it's released.

I should hopefully finish it by Sunday evening. Had no issues doing this for HoC Season 3 and Bloodline.

It will almost certainly get a DVD and Blu-ray release at some point, though Disney has gotten quite stingy releasing lesser sellers on BD.

Most people have the $7.99 Netflix plan where they can share 1 account between 2 different people and are completely unaware of it. Perhaps you can find someone to share with?

???? My Netflix account has three people who can sign in to it. One of them is my brother, and he lives 70 miles away.

It would seriously suck if the only way to see it in HD was Netflix and it only got a DVD release.

all aboard the hype train:

Laura Prudom @LauInLA
#Daredevil is ballsy and brutal, but also brimming with humanity. Charlie Cox plays Matt Murdock with such wit, charm & pathos; he's perfect

Laura Prudom @LauInLA
Also, #Daredevil has the absolute best fight scenes on "television," bar none. It's not just cinematic, it's utterly breathtaking.

Has any review mentioned anything about the red costume yet? Hopefully it turns up before the finale...

I love the astroturfing campaigns run by Hollywood these days. I wonder if the process has been automated yet and they have Twitter bots ready for the latest release?

"Dimly lit and using the same hand-held style popular with directors like Paul Greengrass and Christopher Nolan"

Not what I wanted to read.
But, what makes Daredevil really stand out is that it doesn't try too hard. There are never moments where Matt Murdock feels more than human. While the fact that he is blind offers him a clear alibi for his actions, his enhanced sense of hearing and physical strength comes across more as the result of a lifetime of training which gives him a more relatable origin. Tiny spoilers that don't really spoil much
Spoiler:
There are a handful of moments in the first episode where these skills are used. Some are when trying to detect lies during a conversation while others are in the multiple fight sequences.

That is not what I wanted to read.

What about that don't you like?

Spoiler:
Using his senses to detect when someone is lying is straight from the comics. He can hear a person's heartbeat, and when people are lying they get nervous and their heart beats faster.

It does not show up in the 4 episodes reviewed. The black costume goes through slight variations and Murdock explains that his outfit is a "work in progress" so it appears we'll get to the red suit gradually.
