Games that you now regret selling

I thought this would be a fun (yet depressing) thread. Do you have any games that you now look back on and regret selling? It could be a sentimental regret or, what I'm sure most of us encounter, a game that is now fetching some good dough on the used market. So what are yours?

Mine would probably be Sega Saturn stuff. I unloaded most of it at the time to pay for my PS2. The bigger ones I ended up selling were Panzer Dragoon Saga, Burning Rangers, and The House of the Dead. I Really wish I would have kept some of that stuff.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

I've only sold games once, and deeply regretted it so much that I'll likely never do it again.

To fund my first PC back in the late 1980s, I sold my Atari 2600 collection which included over 100 carts and several rarities.

Evil thread makes me cry. Unsubscribe.

The Two Towers for Gamecube. Loved the game, beat it, sold it, wanted to play it again real bad...

I didn't sell my entire Atari 2600 collection but *did* sell many of the titles I could get for the new computer (late 1982). I was operating on the "I can get good $$ and purchase the upgrade with the $$" principle. At least I kept the console and most of the "rarities." While I *did* purchase the upgrades I still regret selling those 2600 titles. I, too, will likely never do it again.

Sold Mega Man 1, 2 & 3, Mint in box to fund the Gamecube launch. Got the console and 3-4 launch games.

IIRC, I got around $130 for each game. Probably worth a lot more now.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

Come to think of it, I have no idea what happened to my NES and all my games. I remember where the system was after one (very brief) move but not after that.

I know I gave my sister my Genesis, all my accessories, and all my games. I'm sure those were pawned or something a lifetime ago. It'd be nice to have my NES and those games, but I'd love to have my Genesis stuff back.

I bought my father a GameCube for his birthday and gave him a couple of games I'd lost interest in, like Super Mario Sunshine. Admittedly, I'd played more than enough of SMS to know that it wasn't for me at the time, but I've been itching to give it a look recently. My father's not the most organized guy in the world, and there wasn't any sign of it the last couple times I checked there.

All the SNES and Genesis games I sold. I probably wouldn't play them if I still had them but I miss owning them.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

My entire Saturn collection. For some reason we urgently needed the 100 bucks or whatever I got for it.

Snatcher - sold BEFORE eBay - for a flat price on rec.games.video.marketplace for about 1/5 what I could have gotten for it.

Everything else I've kept, except for the occasional game I played and either didn't like or realized I would never never play again.
Only the Xbox 360 is hooked up though, but every now and then I'll hook up the Sega CD and play Bouncers or Popful Mail, or the Atari 7800 for some old school.

I regret NOT selling a lot of my stuff when it was worth something. I'm never going to touch it again. I'm really over the whole collector thing.

At the time I was pissed that Sega had mismanaged everything and the console was dead. I sold it to get a PS2. The Dreamcast will always hold a special place in my heart. One of the best systems i have owned.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

None really. I didn't own anything worth keeping on the Genesis and PS1 and PS2 games don't hold up well enough graphically to ever play again unless they were sprite based. And I still own Suikoden 1 and 2.

Didn't actually sell it but I accidentally gave away Fight Night Champion. I meant to give away Fight Night Round 3 (it was for a 7-year-old).

You gave away a video game in exchange for a child? That sounds a little strange.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

I still have my Dreamcast, but no TV to play it on. I will never give up Techromancer, though. Why don't we have Dreamcast Virtual console games on any system? Surely we're far enough along that emulation isn't an issue?

Only time I sold a system and a bunch of games was when TRU had a trade-in sale for... the Dreamcast. Sold my launch playstation, which had been replaced because it could only play games if you turned it upside down.

Re: Games that you now regret selling

Oh man, I was actually thinking about this the other day when I saw someone selling their complete copies of Earthbound and Castlevania Dracula X for several hundred dollars a piece. I had both those games as well as others like Final Fantasy II(IV) & III(VI), Chrono Trigger, the Breath of Fire games and many others. All complete and in great condition...even had the big box version of Earthbound with the guide. Also had a Turbo Grafx Express handheld system with about 20 games and the import adapter so I could play Street Fighter II CE on it. I sold all of it for pennies compared to what they're worth today, back in 1996, when I needed money for moving expenses. Of course at the time I didn't think they'd be worth anything so it wasn't a big deal. I let the complete Turbo Grafx Express bundle go for about $90 and the SNES games for about $10 each. I cringe every time I think about this.
