Lizabeth Scott has died (01/31/2015) at 92

Another belated obit. By Hollywood standards, her movie career was very brief: 1945-57, and a final film in 1972. She also appeared on stage, radio and television. First time I ever heard of her was in the film version of Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam, where the ghost of Humphrey Bogart tells Allen "You're as nervous as Lizabeth Scott was just before I blew her brains out.", which is NOT what happens in Dead Reckoning (Bogey and Scott's only movie together).

She's great in a number of film noir, including STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS, DEAD RECKONING, I WALK ALONE, PITFALL, and TOO LATE FOR TEARS, but especially in the central role of the "color noir," DESERT FURY (1947):
