This looks promising. It'll be nice to have a large bank of MST3K episodes to stream, since Netflix and Amazon only seem to have a handful at a time, if any. And the Turkey Day marathon! Plus the rest of their catalog that they offer. (I look forward to revisiting It's Gary Shandling's Show after decades since last watching.)

I seriously doubt my old Sony BR player's software will update to include it, so I hope an app for the Xbox 360 becomes available at some point.

re: Shout! Factory TV and additional channels (Scream, Cult)

I added the Roku channel about a week ago, there's a lot of good stuff on there. I watched about three episodes of Fridays. Except for the fake newscast copy of SNL's Weekend Update, the show holds up pretty well. Michael Richards was very, very funny in that show. Larry David turns up in a few skits here and there. Great musical guests.

So, this is all free and not a monthly paid service? Very cool. I'll add it today.

The Stunt Man *and* The Ruling Class? Nice

I probably haven't seen "Comedy Is Not Pretty" since it aired, what, 34 years ago? Christ I'm old... I remember liking it, but I was 10.

Cool to have as a free service.

The wildly diverse selection makes sense if you know Shout, but I wonder if they figured few people would actually subscribe to this mess.

It's ad-based on Roku. But you can watch an episode ad-free if you want to pay 99 cents for it.

Wasn't a lot of their programming already available on Hulu Plus?

I'd love to see a Premium version with more stuff from the Shout Factory catalog, HD whenever possible, and no commercials.

I contacted Sony's barely intelligible customer service, and if I'm deciphering what they sent correctly, basically the Bravia network on the player won't allow them to use HBO.

Some good stuff, but as usual the video-based material is at the wrong frame rate.

Does Sony ever add apps/channels?

I have a Sony smart TV and use it for Netflix, Amazon, and YT, but I got a Roku stick so I could get apps like WatchESPN, HBOGo, Livestream and others.

Not sure. Like I said, their customer service was difficult to understand. I do run quite a few updates periodically, but most of the streaming apps aren't ones in which I'm terribly interested. They said they'd run Cinema Now on the box, and had a big disagreement with them and they don't. They get the biggies: YouTube, Amazon (their interface for it sucks though), Netflix, Vudu, Hulu.

re: Shout! Factory TV and additional channels (Scream, Cult)

While I haven't actually sat down to watch anything yet, I added the Roku channel about a week ago, and browsed their selection. I've always liked their DVD's so this should be a good channel for me.

This isn't available as an iPhone app. Just wow. Rectify that soon, Shout, if you please.

Shout Factory TV is now available as an Amazon Prime Add-On. You can watch the movies and TV shows commercial-free for $2.99/month. There's a 7-Day Free Trial.

The fact that's commercial free is a big plus. I watched some MST3K on Roku and the ad placement was ridiculous. They avoided the natural commercial breaks and would instead just stick ads into the middle of scenes.

re: Shout! Factory TV and additional channels (Scream, Cult)

I was watching The Saint season one (Shout Factory TV via Amazon Prime)and after watching season one episode 11 the next episode was only available for purchase (1.99 )-WTF. I also had already purchased the Saint Complete season series' on dvd so having to pay for some episodes on their subscription service is 100 percent bullshit. Either carry the complete seasons or don't bother with the nonsense of making someone purchase certain episodes(there are other episodes that need too be purchased if you are too watch it completely on the streaming service).

re: Shout! Factory TV and additional channels (Scream, Cult)

At $2.99 a month, that's not bad. Actually pretty darn good and a lot better than some of the other add-on stuff. Niche stuff (which is what most of this is) is right up my alley. Heck, based on what I would watch, I rather have this over some of my other streaming services.
