A great episode that should have been the mid-season finale. I have no idea why it was held back for January.
That death was certainly unexpected. When Fusco kissed Root, for some reason I got the impression he might die in this episode. I was blindsided until the very end. If we are being honest, she had outlived her usefulness as a character since she was a female copy of Reese.

Finally...
Story needs to move forward really getting sick of our so called "good guys" continuously getting their respective ass kicked all the time. Tiresome.

But that will make their victory over evil that much greater. Yeah, kind of hokey and maybe it doesn't go that way. Maybe evil wins. That would spin off a better show. If good wins the story is over.

Sarah Shahi officially left because she's pregnant with twins. She had to be written out because of it.

This episode--which I think is probably the best one of the series--is right up there with "The Variable" from LOST for me.
I had to watch the "Simplified Simulation" scene a couple of times I was laughing so hard.

yup. totally agree. probably up there with the best episodes this show has ever done.
i disagree she bogged down the show. there was a legitimate need for a 2nd reese, to help him do all the shit he couldn't possibly do.
yup. i think it's my favorite one, too. the simulation part was hilarious.
agreed. she was a great addition to the show.
Is she really dead, though? If you watched the preview for the next episode

Interview with her on EW: http://insidetv.ew.com/2015/01/07/pe...hahi-pregnant/
Interesting reading because it may give hints about what is going on with her.

I think it would be a huge cheat if they brought the character back. A lesser show might do it but the people running Person of Interest take it very seriously.

Great freaking episode. All the different scenarios were hilarious.
at the scenario where Reese got shot and released the grenade.
I also think they left Shaw's fate ambiguous in case Shahi wants to come back. But realistically with her now having 3 kids, I don't think Shahi will return to full time TV work. I think best case scenario has Shaw returning as a guest star at some point.
Funny how they played up some sexual tension between Root and Shaw. Amy and Sarah do have chemistry, but that kiss did seem a little forced though.

I thought it was an OK ep. Fun, but I'm not really into the whole Samaritan storyline and the way it has shaken up the show. Also not a big fan of the Root/Shaw thing either.
The "simplified" simulation was funny, but I didn't like the moment when Fusco kissed Root and said "What the hell, it's a simulation". It was just too meta and came off as self indulgent joke for the cast.

Wow, that was really good! Best episode since Carter's death.
Someone was really loving their new camera on set.

I don't usually watch this show, just wanted to catch the ending to see if someone died. That final shootout was laughably bad. Shaw holding her gun right night to Root's ear and firing, hello deafness. Also, when they started running and firing, it didn't look like they were even aiming at anything, and the fake muzzle blasts looked horrible.
