Catching up w/ Lau Ching-Wan

I was sorting through some DVDs over the holidays and it occurred to me I have been completely ignoring one of my favorite HK actors recently, Lau Ching-Wan. (Actually it's been awhile since I've purchased any HK DVDs... what's the best place to get them now, used to use dddhouse IIRC?) Here's what I currently have w/ him

C'est La Vie Mon Cheri (1993) ... Kit
I've Got You, Babe!!! (1994) ... Charcoal Lau
Sea Root (1995) ... Sea Root
The Golden Girls (1995) ... Chun Wai
Romantic Dream (1995) ... Hung Chi Lung
Mack the Knife (1995) ... Chiu
Beyond Hypothermia (1996) ... Long
Big Bullet (1996) ... Sergeant Bill Chu
Tri-Star (1996) ... Lau Ching Faat
Full Alert (1997) ... Insp. Baau Wai Hung
Final Justice (1997) ... Father Li Chi Ho
Lifeline (1997) ... Chief Yau Sui
The Longest Nite (1998) ... Tony
A Hero Never Dies (1998) ... Martin
Expect the Unexpected (1998) ... Sam
Step Into the Dark (1998) ... Dr Care Kwan
Running Out of Time (1999) ... Insp. Ho Sheung Sang
Victim (1999) ... Manson Man
Where a Good Man Goes (1999) ... Michael Cheung
La Brassiere (2001) ... Johnny
Lunch with Charles (2001) ... Tong
Mighty Baby (2002) ... Johnny Hung
My Left Eye Sees Ghosts (2002) ... Ken Wong /Sam Wong
Lost in Time (2003) ... Hale
Colour of the Truth (2003) ... 7 Up
Itchy Heart (2004) ... Poon Chi-Man

What after 2004 is worth getting? How about any of his older stuff I've missed?

TIA

Yup, DDDHouse is still number one in my book.

Since you are a fan of Lau Ching-wan, and have an extensive catalog of his movies already, then "worth getting" might be sort of broad for you. Of his post-2004 films, I've seen THE WHITE STORM, OUT OF INFERNO, THE BULLET VANISHES, FAIRY TALE KILLER, THE GREAT MAGICIAN, LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE, OVERHEARD 2, OVERHEARD, and MAD DETECTIVE...I'm not sure if I ever watched WRITTEN BY, and MY NAME IS FAME is another one I never got to. Of those ones I've seen, I don't recall being especially enamored with any of them...not saying a bunch weren't perfectly watchable/entertaining enough, just that none would come to mind as "favorites". If you want to get reacquainted with his work...hmm...maybe go with MAD DETECTIVE to start...just because he is so much the primary character in that movie.

Don't have any recommendations as to older stuff...though it looks like you could be in need of a reissue of his 1997 entry TOO MANY WAYS TO BE NO. 1...I missed out on picking up that DVD too.

Probably my favorite of his is A HERO NEVER DIES...and too because of the extensive use of that song Sukiyaki...love that song.
