Happy New Year!

Starting the year off with a short one:

Solid Snake

Dead Space 3, started and finsihed DS2 a few days ago. LOVED that one and now w/ DS3, I see the game changes immeidately in how the baddies work, the alterations to the bench and etc. Not really digging it. Also... Elle is over sexualized for no reason while in the last one she was just badass chick who didn't need to flaunt her tits about.

Hyrule Warriors... is there actually a fully fleshed out game or is Dynasty Warriors w/ Link and etc? Cuz... Dynasty Warriors got old quick.

From what my sons tell me (they are 16 and 10), its the same set up as Dynasty Warriors but with TLoZ characters. There are missions and objectives, characters (both heroes and villains) to unlock along the way, and a twist that

There is co-op play - one person on the TV with a controller and one on the game pad, so no split screen stuff here.

They are really liking it. There is a good variety of characters and abilities and the story contains a 'game story device' about an entity that transports the heroes in and out of worlds in the different Zelda games so there are levels in Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, and Ocarina of Time.

They're having a blast with it.

FYI, we've never owned a Dynasty Warriors game, but son has played it at a friend's house and he says that this is better.

I rang in the new year with Escape Goat 2. I don't play a lot of platformers. Some of the secret rooms were brutal.

Finished up Lego Marvel as much as I can stand it which means everything except the flying races. So no 100% :/, but 44 of 45 achievements. Frustrating, but when you are making NO headway on it, you can only bang your head against the wall so many times.

Anyway, probably going to start Raven (have all three episodes) or Wolf Among Us (all episodes as well). Thinking Raven first since I know Wolf is supposed to be much better. I will probably tag team it with GTA: San Andreas or GTA V, not sure which.

How is that? I've found Fifa boring this year for some reason.

I like it a lot. To me it feels like a more natural game of football. It is missing many of the licenses that Fifa has but I do love having the Champions League/Europa League integrated into PES so it has that going for it. If there is a demo available, definitely give it a try.
I feel the same way about Fifa, it's just not fun for me anymore and I haven't touched it in well over a month now.

Stepping away from Destiny for a while. It's been nonstop since launch, and keeping up with the grind is starting to feel like something I have to do rather than something I want to do.

So in the meantime, I'm back to two old favorites: Battlefield 4 on PS4, and Minecraft on the XOne (mostly because its the only thing my wife is willing to play with me).

I'm working my way through Dragon Age Inquisiton. I like RPGs, but this one feels longer than it needs to be. I played like 20 hours and just got to Skyhold.
