The one title I had found last week that I wanted raised up just enough that I'm paying about a buck more WITH the sale.

So used to such good deals during the last month that this is such a disappointment.

Deepdiscount ditching the ability to sort their items makes these sales much less interesting.

They really need a search option that allows you to see the titles with the highest percentage savings. Not having it only makes a person get sick of trying to find the actual deals and give up trying to fill a cart with $25 or more. I know I stopped at about $18.

Yup. I pretty much gave up. If I see something in a few minutes great, if not, I pass. Like for this sale.

We just finished up with a 40% off (50% if you're a member) sale. It's going to be a few months before these prices with the coupon look attractive.

Besides, I don't know about most of you guys, but I'm sale-ed out right now. There are a few late Jan and Feb titles I could pre-order, but my enthusiasm to buy more stuff is at an all time low. My rusty mind has shifted gears from acquiring into watching. I can't shift it back without a lot of grinding and lurching.

I've got sale fatigue as well. In between the BN Criterion sale, several black friday purchases and another 40% off BN sale where I stocked up on boutique label titles, I've spent far too much and need a few months off. I also realized that I own far too many titles and need to actually WATCH some of them.

I'm only purchasing something in the next few months if it is super cheap or super rare.

I try to do that all the time, but it always seems like there's something that comes up. The only way to really do that is not go to the bargain forums and not got to pawn and thrift shops. Then you "might" be safe. Actually some of my best bargains this year came before Black Friday.

15% off is a laughable sales approach. Too many Criterions picked up at great prices and decent deals on other blu rays at Best Buy and other places during the past two months makes me laugh at this.

Lowest price on Continuum Season 2 Blu-Ray ($17.80 after discount) I've seen anywhere. Currently $19.96 at Amazon (lowest ever there) which could be pm'ing someone else whistles innocently. B&N had it just over $20 with 40% off + 25% coupon (assuming that it was even in-stock in your local store).

Just one example. Of course these won't be the lowest ever prices on everything, but almost nothing is at msrp and there's stuff here that doesn't go on sale as often and/or isn't carried by very many retailers, and for those who buy dvd's (either because the BR isn't happening and/or they still just buy dvd's), or import cd's, then some of their prices (60%-70% off msrp) easily beat Amazon's best ever even before the 15% off.

For example : Last Embrace, Flesh & Blood, Across 110th Street and Mr. Majestyk are $14.84 after coupon, lowest price I've seen.

Laugh all you want but some of us are finding excellent deals since it's 15% off current prices, not MSRP. I picked up a handful of titles for prices at least 15% less than anyone else has ever been.

These 15% sales were better when Deepdiscount had better everyday pricing on everything. They are now mainly useful for the independent labels that Amazon and other places charge nearly full price. The only advantage Deepdiscount really has these days is that it continues to not charge state tax in most of the country.

No matter what DD does, it seems they can't win with some people. There's plenty of good prices (if not great on some) if you look around a little. They are not the cheapest on everything (and may be high on some things), but guess what, so is Amazon at times as well. I've placed 27 orders from them this year and I'm probably more frugal than many here. I got some killer deals and they have emerged as my favorite online retailer.

I have been a long time customer of theirs and have never had a problem with them. Free shipping, no tax, coupons on a regular basis and their prices on certain niche titles keep me coming back. Placed an order yesterday and received shipping confirmation today.

I hadn't ordered from them since the change in ownership, but I placed one order Friday and another last night, and got shipping confirmation for everything both times in 24 hours. I still have to see what arrives, but so far I couldn't have asked for more (except no tax, but that seems to be much harder to achieve these days).

On 11/19 I ordered 3 titles/4 items.

They cancelled 2 of the titles in less than a week.

After another week or 2, I called them & cancelled the remaining item (which I bought & received for about $1.50 more from TCM).

Today, 40 days after placing the order, 30 days from them cancelling the first 2 items, & 20 (?) days from me cancelling the final item, I got this by email (dated today also):

I walked away from DD for quite some time, and then with their sale codes leading into BF week, I placed a few orders, and I have to say that they appear to have gotten their act together. They shipped using priority mail, and usually no more than 2-3 business days after an order was placed.

I placed an order yesterday, and receivd a shipping confirmation today. This time I used the 15% code mostly for music (in some cases they destroyed Amazon's prices, especially on some pricey multi cd sets/imports). So far I am a happy camper and while I have to do a lot of double checking on Amazon to confirm I am getting an okay deal, I see no reason not to continue to give them my business.
