Norm Breyfogle had a stroke
http://robot6.comicbookresources.com...lowing-stroke/
Norm Breyfogle had a stroke last week, and he is paralyzed on his left side now. He is only 54 years old, not really old at all.
Breyfogle is my all time favorite artist. I loved his Batman work in the late 80s/early 90s. To me personally he was always the definitive Batman artist, not O'Neil or Aparo or anyone else.

Re: Norm Breyfogle had a stroke
Damn. He was my favorite Batman artist ever and one of my favorite artists period.
I saw this wood poster in Bed Bath & Beyond just last week and bought it strictly because it was a Breyfogle cover: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/stor...tegoryId=10550
Not my favorite cover of his but I bought it anyway.
I will definitely throw some money at their fundraiser for him. Sucks that he was a left handed artist and got hit on the entire left side. Insult to injury.
He did so many great covers but I enjoyed his artwork inside the books even more. I think he was doing a Batman Beyond book or something like that recently but I don't keep up with modern comics much anymore. When I sold all my comic books 25 years ago, his run on Detective Comics was one of the few I kept.
I had been hoping to commission him for a piece but he quit doing requests a few years ago and never started back. I bought a signed sketchbook from 2006 that he printed off ebay only about 6 months ago.
Damn.

^^ There's actually a better version of that artwork that was on a T-shirt back in the early 90's. It was more subdued with basically just the outline on a black shirt. I got it as a gift and never wore it. I will try to find it and take a pic.

I hope he can recover from that.
I started reading Detective Comics when him and Alan Grant were on the book. Great stuff. I think my favorite was either "The Mudpack" or "Tulpa."
I also liked his Elseworld's book "Holy Terror."

Re: Norm Breyfogle had a stroke
Sad for Breyfogle. The best Batman artist in the 90's. But also a disturbing trend of comic creators not having any health insurance.

Re: Norm Breyfogle had a stroke
9 minute video with Norm Breyfogle below.
He isn't actually paralyzed on his left side. He is having difficulty using his left side, and he is having to relearn how to use his left hand again.
