Synopsis:

It looks like Homer won't be home for Christmas after he stays too long at Moe's Tavern on Christmas Eve and an irate Marge tells him not to return to their house, so he's left to wander alone around Springfield and lament the effects of Christmas spirits.

I was very happy with this Christmas-themed episode. What did people think of that tag/preview at the end featuring the aliens?

The primary writing credit was Al Jean, which most long-time fans will recognize as the most reliable producer left on the show from its glory days.

This has been a really strong season overall I agree. Last night's definitely had an old school vibe to it and felt like it fit in with some of the all time classic episodes.

I thought the preview looked like a fun episode. Is that the first time the show has done a teaser for an upcoming episode? I don't remember that being done before but I might be wrong about that.

I honestly wasn't sure. It seemed like it could have been a joke but then again with the holidays coming up I could see the show taking a break until around January 4th like the episode was slated for. I haven't looked at the schedule for upcoming episodes. It seems like it would be a really random thing to just tag on the end of that episode if it wasn't an acutal preview though.

It was hard to tell, but I think it was a legitimate preview for an episode on January 4th. Why would they list an actual date if it was a fake preview?
