Revenge (S4E10) -- Mid-Season Finale -- "Atonement" -- 12/7/14

EMILY THORNE'S DEADLIEST SECRET IS EXPOSED, ON ABC'S "REVENGE"

"Atonement" - Jack is torn between Emily and the new woman in his life, while Nolan and Louise bring Southern charm to East Hampton, on "Revenge," SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

"Revenge" stars Emily VanCamp as Emily Thorne, Madeleine Stowe as Victoria Grayson, Josh Bowman as Daniel Grayson, Nick Wechsler as Jack Porter, Gabriel Mann as Nolan Ross, Karine Vanasse as Margaux LeMarchal, and James Tupper as David Clarke.

"Atonement" was written by Ted Sullivan and directed by John Terlesky.

Episode 10 of 22

I think Margaux dies. Her character really serves no purpose anymore. She's the safe pick.

I would like to see Daniel die because that would drive Vicky over the edge, but considering Joshua Bowman is actually dating VanCamp in real life, I don't know if the writers would have the balls to kill him off.

Goodbye
Spoiler:
Daniel
... and good riddance.

On another note, it was good to see Conrad in the flashbacks. I like him in small doses.

Wow. Wasn't expecting that, but WTF? Is the show ending?

I enjoy the show and will stick with it until the end. However, if I had to guess, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the final season.

I've heard the ratings have been lackluster recently, and it may be that the producers know the writing is on the wall.

In a way, that can be good for the fans because they basically have a whole season to tie up loose ends.

Of course I could be wrong. I read that in order for a series to be syndicated, there must normally be 100 episodes. I don't believe Revenge will have 100 episodes after this season, but it's possible the network doesn't care.

I don't have any idea what the syndication value would be compared to other shows. It isn't, after all, Seinfeld, Friends, or the Simpsons.

88 episodes is good enough these days. By the end of season 4, Revenge will have 88 episodes. (Assuming the show is not pulled off the air earlier, and the episode count is not later reduced).

Some highly serialized shows were sold into off-network syndication, such as recent shows like The Good Wife and Fringe.

These days there's other markets for off-network syndication of highly serialized shows, such as streaming services like Netflix, amazon, hulu, etc ...

RIP douche bag Daniel

Once they showed the flashbacks to his past with Conrad and he started getting reflective on his life, I knew he was a goner.

Badass chick fight at the end with Amanda and Agent Kate. Really looks like we're heading to an end game.

I guess David was trying to poison Vicky or drug her to get the truth. Now she's going to lose her mind now that her boy is dead.

If many main characters are being killed off (or dismissed), then there's probably not much point in doing a season 5. (Unless season 5 is like a "prequel" or the timeline is shifted "many years/decades later").

88 episodes for Revenge would actually be very appropriate considering the double infinity symbolism that is used on the show.

RIP Daniel. 3 out of 4 Graysons now gone. Victoria stands alone.

I don't think anyone (including the lead) wants a fifth season. The story is getting convoluted again after a more focused start. I ready for the conclusion.

The way the show is heading right now, especially with the death of Daniel, I just don't see how they would have any story left for another 22 hours next Fall (even 13 would be a stretch). They have 12 more episodes left this season, that is more than enough time to write a proper conclusion.

I'm sure Emily VanCamp is ready to move on, but she can't say anything since she's contracted to the show for however long it lasts.

I jus read an interview today with one of the producers and it seems like they're hoping to get a "final season" deal (meaning they'd get one more to wrap it up). While I watch the show faithfully, I think it's time to wrap it up.

Gina Torres is joining the cast in the back half of Season 4:

A powerful Suit is on her way to the Hamptons.

Gina Torres has been tapped to recur in the second half of Revenge‘s fourth season, TVLine has learned exclusively, playing an aspiring socialite named Natalie Walsh.

In addition to her dreams of conquering high society — Natalie comes from “humble-but-ambitious roots” — she’s also arriving with a few enemies in her sights, though it’s not yet clear which Hamptons resident she’ll want to “drive a stake into.”
