A ok episode. I don't think they explained enough at the end how Constantine got rid of the spirit. I also think they should have used Chas more in this episode.

Re: Constantine (S1E06) -- "Rage of Caliban" -- 11/28/14
I thought they explained everything.
1. Constantine first thought the guy in the mental institution was a victim of the demon.
2. The house didn't provide a strong enough connection to isolate and trap the demon.
3. Constantine realized the demon is the guy from the mental institution, and sent it back to live in his body. The demon is under the supervision of a trained medical team. Unless they keep him sedated, that seems really irresponsible.
I like this show. Hope it get a little bit of love from NBC and gets reordered. I'd hate to leave all of the plotlines hanging. But that's how it is when you get involved with a show like this.
Funny: the promo image above turned out to be a haunted house, not some people butcher's basement. That image stuck in my head, and was a little misleading while watching. I kept thinking, "where are they going to take it, where this kid ends up being a psycho who butchers people".

Why did this episode feel like it should have been the second episode or something. No Zed nor mention of her. I know people don't like her but I do. ok episode but I liked the previous week better. I'm in with this show for the long run.

While I don't think this show is terrible, I won't be gutted if it doesn't come back. If people weren't paying attention, Constantine did light up a cigarette on screen in this episode.
The producers have not pushed the envelope enough and Harold Perrineau's angel character should have had a different role than only showing up to bother Constantine by freezing time.

That is correct (I called it a demon, I think it was just the guy's angry spirit). But that kid was doing some telepathic stuff. Not what I'd want to deal with, even at the loony bin. Seems like he could really cause some damage still.

As dumb as it sounds, I replayed it a few times on my DVR, and Chas definitely said she was in art class. He wasn't on screen when it was spoken, so I would guess that it was done in post. Maybe they filmed this episode before she was cast.

Clearly an episode shot before they recast and that OVA work was just thrown in there.

Good to know my daughter and I weren't the only ones who thought this was meant to be Episode 2! We both missed the line of dialogue, but it sounds as if it was added as a cover.
Not a bad episode ... Looks as if they opened with all the stinkers and it may come back to bite them.

^^^ This was indeed originally episode 102 and was re-worked to function as episode 6.
Even the NBC on the description for this episode said it was episode 102.
