My ABC & NBC affiliates showed Obama. Local anchors came on afterwards so it was apparently a local, not network, decision.
My CBS showed BBT.
My CBS showed BBT.

My father will no doubt be ranting incessantly about whatever the president says, so I won't have to watch it to know. Didn't know he was on tonight.
At least the cast don't mind looking silly dressed up . May have been fairly complex setups for a sitcom. I wonder who possibly downloads Sheldon's podcast? Thought that they'd deal with him actually showing some emotion, but just another joke as usual, though Amy was hilarious.
Melissa Rauch is hilarious as per usual. I like the fact that they're at least acknowledging that her character has a sometimes bullying edge. Nice to see her have at least a glimmer of self-awareness, kind of interesting for a sitcom character, I suppose.
The subplot about a guy who'd basically died and accomplished nothing was kind of depressing, to be honest.
Burton is amusingly game. Sort of random episode, feels like they were running out of ideas and just stuck a bunch of unconnected scripts together.
Figured that the professor's notes would turn out to be a lark.
Nice how they tied Sheldon and the other professor together in way which was actually kind of thematically appropriate. Sheldon, of course, then culminates in another asshole thing. I kind of get what it's like to have a life so empty to see validation from strangers on the Internet though, as anyone who's read my posts knows .

Thought this was pretty terrible. Plus they made Bernie cry
And I think something's up with the laugh track. Started noticing it last week but it was even worse this week and pretty damn annoying. Like, someone would just say a regular line that's not even meant as a joke and the laugh comes in

Very meh episode for me. Although there were a few funny bits with the Fun with Flags stuff. I also find it a weird coinkeedink that both this show and Community are fascinated by Levar Burton.

The Fun with Flags stuff was pretty funny to me; I loved Amy yelling at Sheldon about pressing record. The stuff with the dead professor didn't go anywhere though.

Amy is sometimes the best part of the show. I got what they were going for with the dead prof. Obviously none of these guys have made a significant discovery even though they are supposed to be very smart guys. And they're also not getting any younger. It wasn't funny, but I got it.

This did feel like three B storylines strung together. The professor wasting his life could have been explored deeper, but the fun with flags stuff was gold. The Penny/Bernadette thing felt like it was tacked on because they realized, "oh shit, we have two cast members we didn't use in either storyline this week!"

Based on what I have read, this episode seems to be primarily a setup for some stuff up in the future, including friction between Leonard and Penny. Penny starts to become very successful and Leonard's career stagnates.

I'm behind on the last three episodes. Just don't really feel the motivation to watch the show as much this year for some reason. I'm sure I'll get to watching the entire season at some point though.

Like he said in the episode, Howard essentially wins because he went to space. Hard to top.
Not a great episode at all. Guess I'm in the minority since I didn't like the Fun With Flags stuff, aside from Amy yelling at Sheldon for his record comment. Nice to see Stephen Root is still around though.
