Maybe everyone is little big planet out?

There might be some truth to that. I enjoyed the first one, and played the hell out of it. Played the PSP version a decent amount. Got LBP2, played it for a bit, but never went back to it, not that it was bad, it just never "captured" me. Maybe I'll go back to that to see if I wanna go ahead with this one. The only problem for me with this franchise has been it's "floatieness".

LBP2 wasn't as fun. There were too many gimicky items and levels. In the first one, you jumped and grabbed, that's it. In LBP2, every world they introduced a new item or skill and you spent 60% of the world "learning" it. I liked the mini-game levels better in LBP2 though.

I couldn't get into LBP. I wanted to but it just wasn't' for me. Not a bad game but I only played it cuz it was given to us by Sony.

The new characters could really broaden this game's appeal, but I don't think most of us are the target audience. My son will probably want it, but he honestly spent most of his time in LBP2 sequencing in the music editor.

I assume the person who builds the level assigns which characters get used since their abilities are so different. (?)

I liked the concept and gameplay but it was too short, and I didn't care for the level building aspect.

With the move to PS4 I was expecting 3-D instead of the same 2-D platforming.

It was a choice, not a limitation. I prefer 2D platformers to 3D (Though I'd love a new Jax and Daxter).

I still need to beat that HD collection. I only beat the first Jax... on the PS2.

It's always been like 2.5D anyway.

I'm still a fan and am looking forward to this (especially with my very own Sackboy included). I was really impressed with Tearaway so my faith in Mm is still really high.

Reviews are out and they're all over the place. Metacritic score is currently 79.

Joystiq really enjoyed it and gave the game 90

IGN picked it apart and killed it for a series of game-breaking bugs that a lot of other reviewers didn't even mention. They gave it a 6.8. In the Editor's note at the end of the review, they note that many of the issues might be fixed with a Day 1 patch, but they're not convinced enough to raise the score.

Seriously though, I'm gonna sit on this one and give the community a chance to build some stuff, maybe get a couple of patches, and probably save a few duckets in the process.

You're right. I found that out after I read this morning's reviews, but didn't think to edit my previous post.

I still think Mm was involved in the development of this game. Strange they didn't make this one though as it's a direct sequel. Guess they were too busy adapting Tearaway for the PS4 (something that may be cool, but I wouldn't re-buy as it's the perfect Vita game).

It's on sale at Best Buy this week for $39.99 ($31.99 with GCU). If anyone else bought it from Best Buy at launch and is Elite status, take your receipt back in the next few days to get $20 ( or $16 with GCU) back on your previous purchase. Great deal -- especially if you got the pre-order DLC, the Day One bonus content and especially the plush figure (SO cute!).
