Great ep! Loved the fight between May and Whiplash. It looks like they got a better fight choreographer this season too. Awesome to see Mockingbird kick some ass too.
And I'm glad there was no glimmer of redemption for Ward in Coulson's eyes. Hope he'll always be a bad guy.

Really digging the show. I loved the fight with the Gogo like weapon. The only part I didn't care for was using the crazy weapon on the shield agent when they could have just stabbed her. Those things must cost a lot of money.

I think I trust Sen. Christian Ward even less than I do his brother.

great episode.
Good to have Mockingbird back again.
And of course, Ward escapes while being transferred. I liked Coulson talking down to him saying that he's a murderer and traitor and will never be trusted. And to think some here were worried there might be a redemption arc for him.
Glad to see Tim DeKay get work post-White Collar. Very underrated actor. He was good here as Ward's sketchy brother.
Set the DVR to record the Marvel special next Tuesday since there is no episode next week.

Entertaining episode.
However, I would have transferred Ward on a slab with a few more chains.
Good!
Ward should not be able to come back from what he did. He can help from inside a cell and that's about it.

Oh I agree completely. I just know there were people here who expected the show to go the typical route of somehow getting him back on the team.

No matter how ridiculous that would be there could have been a time it would have been done. They even brought of brain washing and said that was not then case. It's all him and he can just be the bad guy from now on or whatever else he is.

You guys are going to be disappointed when they do give him a redemption arc after his bro throws him down a well. At worst he'll have a Return of the Jedi ending death.

Ward's escape was so predictable that I'm actually hoping it was a Coulson plan. If not given what happened on CA: TWS and Aos, then both Shield and Hydra need to buff up on their prisoner transport security.
Also, I still expect Ward to be going on missions at some point later this year.

I would be shocked if Ward is back on the SHIELD team at any point.

They need to kill off Fitz ASAP. Can't stand it anymore.
Do it in a way that he sacrifices himself for the team so it has some weight to it... but geez... he needs to go.
I hope they can fit Mockingbird into Cap 3.

I thought this was a great episode. And I really, really love the way they are writing Bobbi. She's kick-ass without being humorless or cold.

Experience an exciting journey through the 75 year history of the Marvel Universe, from its humble beginnings as Timely Comics in 1939 to the birth of The Marvel Age in the 1960s, and finally the cinematic blockbusters of today, in the original special, Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop!, hosted by Emily VanCamp, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4 (9:02-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Marvel has pioneered and broken box-office records around the world, creating a universe unlike any other in pop culture history through its comic books, television shows, video games, animation and blockbuster films. Marvel made its foray into the film world with Iron Man in 2008 and continues its entertainment domination today with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC and the upcoming Marvel’s Agent Carter, and the recent theatrical releases of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as the highly anticipated upcoming film, Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Marvel Cinematic Universe translates the excitement of the comic books to a whole new audience with some of the most groundbreaking and dynamic storytelling that brings an unprecedented vision to the world of entertainment.
But how was the Marvel Universe formed?
The special takes a look at Marvel’s roots, beginning in 1939 as Timely Comics with Martin Goodman and Stan Lee emerging as key figures in Marvel’s history in the 1940s along with the creation of Captain America, the impact of World War II and the decline of super hero stories and the subsequent downfall of the comic book industry in the 1950s. After a decade of decline, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the modern super hero team in 1961 with the Fantastic Four, helping to bring back superhero stories and ushering in “The Marvel Age,” which saw the creation of the Hulk, Iron Man, The X-Men and Spider-Man. A shift in the character paradigm in the 1970s also brought culturally relevant characters such as the Black Panther, Falcon, Black Widow, Luke Cage and Ms. Marvel to the forefront . But the mid-1990s were not so kind to Marvel as the company fell into bankruptcy. However, a new batch of creative visionaries brought about a modern day renaissance, revitalizing publishing. Soon after Marvel saw its characters and stories take over the silver screen, and Marvel Studios was born, leading into today’s successes on the big screen and television.

I actually thought that Coulson's rejection of Ward set up a redemption arc of some kind. I suspect that Ward will probably end up saving everyone after his brother fucks them over. Possibly at the cost of his own life.

Yeah they're definitely setting up the brother to be more scummy and dangerous than Ward, so I do see a redemption scenario/heelish-face turn coming up. There's still some ambiguity as to who's telling the truth about their past.
I like that Talbot wasn't necessarily fooled by the Hydra agents claiming to be Shield.
I agree that Bobbi is a great addition to the cast, and it saves us from having Skye in the field, it seems. Also, I guess Triplett is taking over May's role as pilot-who-doesn't-do-missions-as-much?
I did think Coulson was going to rethink giving Ward over, but I can understand how much they gained from going through with the exchange.

Another good episode that is moving things along nicely, but yeah Ward escaping was fucking stupid. Getting tired of the prisoner escaping during transport trope. I really like the cast that they have this year too, and while I like Fitz I hope they do something with him soon.
Is there a reason they're skipping a week? I was also excited to see in the preview...
