Re: Gotham (S1E06) -- "Spirit of the Goat" -- 10/27/14

These were my thoughts. Man is this is stupid. Oh this is getting good. No this is pretty stupid. I'm kind of liking this.

By the end of the show I wasn't sure if I liked it or hated it. Anyway I didn't like the goat plot. I did like seeing that Bullock wasn't always a dick. Kitten Girl seemed pointless. The general idea of the cops going after Gordon for kill a mob guy seemed really dumb. I know the one lady is motivated by her feelings for Barbra but I would think her partner, boss, and every cop would be against her and put a stop to it. This is Gotham not Metropolis. I did like the odd Riddler moments with file clerk. I'm not even sure why I liked it but I did.

The end was pretty predictable but how is penguin going stay alive. After this there should be two groups gunning for him.

Not as far as I know...

Someone please explain why Montoya has a such a hard on for arresting Gordon outside of the obvious fact he's now banging her old girlfriend. There was no body, so how could you prove that a murder happened and as far as I know, no one reported Cobblepot missing.

I really enjoyed it. Thought they'd milk Gordon being arrested for at least an episode but I'm glad to see they're moving the Penguin's story alone.

They really didn't need Catwoman in this episode. Pointless.

Hey, remember me? Good. Back to the streets I go.

At least we got a little more on Riddler being socially awkward.

Re: Gotham (S1E06) -- "Spirit of the Goat" -- 10/27/14

The Penguin story is the only thing remotely interesting me right now.

I was so underwhelmed last night, especially consider Ben Edlund wrote it.

Stupid moments included Kat sneaking into Wayne Manor, especially when Alfred is likely on heightened alert about the Goat taking Gotham's first born.
The whole bit with Nigma and the secretary felt so forced to me.

The Spirit of the Goat thing was okay, but the whole explanation/reasoning behind it lost me.

I'm going to hang a few more episodes, but there's a lot to watch out there that I'm having a better time with.

Gotta say, I'm surprised at so many negative reactions. We've got a stylish noir show with two really good leads, a gallery of villians, and lots of ongoing storylines. Donal Logue provides some great comic relief. I'm loving the hell out of this show.

You'd think Wayne Manor would have better security. Why was Kristin Kringle dressed like it was 1950? There was another woman on the show wearing a similar outdated dress... yet there are cell phones, computers, modern cars and skyscrapers.

Doesn't everyone get sponge baths from their mom? That's how you know she loves you.

That was bullshit when Montoya arrested Gordon with zero evidence.

I when Penguin showed up at the end and they cut to credits when Harvey lost it.

I'm just not feeling this at all.

It might as well be Law & Order: Gotham.

Strangely enough, it was one of two similar scenes on Monday night network TV (Blacklist being the other.)

I don't know what is more entertaining for me - the show or the complaints.

I enjoy watching it for most of the reasons you stated but I just wish some of the cases/villians were a bit more interesting. I agree with you on Donal Longue as well.

The Catwoman cameos are definitely pointless.

What is the point of the "Edward Nygma tries to get laid" subplot? I'm loving Logue as grizzled Bullock, and this was a nice glimpse into how he got to be as cynical as he is. Digital cinematography with the backlighting in the Goat's lair. Looked cool. The final explanation doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense, the hypnosis stuff was ooga-booga, but hey, it was cool to see Bullock actually being smart enough to figure it out, though proving it would probably be tons of paperwork in real life, assuming he could pin it on a respected therapist. Why would MCU be arresting another officer? Wouldn't that be for Internal Affairs?

"Deep down, everyone hates the rich."
My dad is going to hear about this on Rush Limbaugh, I'm betting right now. More liberal propaganda .
