Bones (FOX) -- Season 10 Thread -- Premieres 9/25/14

A MAN'S REMAINS HELP THE TEAM BEGIN TO UNRAVEL WHY BOOTH WAS PUT IN JAIL ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF "BONES" THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, ON FOX

John Boyd ("Argo," "24") Guest-Stars

In the Season 10 premiere of BONES, Brennan and the Jeffersonian team are desperately working to get Booth out of jail, clear his name and absolve him of crimes he did not commit. The remains of a man who has been dead 16 years could be the point of origin in the entire government conspiracy that ultimately put Booth in jail. Meanwhile, Booth is faced with a challenge from a new and politically ambitious FBI agent (guest star John Boyd). As he awaits trial, Booth also realizes that many of the convicts with whom he is locked up are criminals he put in there, and Daisy and Sweets have a surprise for the rest of the Jeffersonian team in the all-new "The Conspiracy in the Corpse" Season Premiere episode of BONES airing Thursday, Sept. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (BON-1001) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

Cast: Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperance Brennan; David Boreanaz as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth; TJ Thyne as Dr. Jack Hodgins; Michaela Conlin as Angela Montenegro; Tamara Taylor as Dr. Camille "Cam" Saroyan; John Francis Daley as Dr. Lance Sweets

Guest Cast: Patricia Belcher as AUSA Caroline Julian; Eugene Byrd as Dr. Clark Edison; Carla Gallo as Daisy Wick; John Boyd as FBI Special Agent James Aubrey; Sterling Macer, Jr. as Deputy Director Victor Stark; JD Cullum as Glenn Durant; Sam Anderson as Hugo Sanderson; David Fabrizio as Kevin Brady; Daniel Lee Robertson III as Kenny; Sunnie Pelant as Christine Booth; Rance Howard as Jerold Norsky.

One key note to mention. Bones creator Hart Hanson has left the show. He's now working on the FOX midseason series Backstrom.

Re: Bones (FOX) -- Season 10 Thread -- Premieres 9/25/14

So over the summer, I marathoned Seasons 1-9 on Netflix. I had never watched Bones -- it was one of those shows that always looked interesting, but I never made time for. Anyway, I really fell in love with these characters and it's now probably my favorite procedural.

As for tonight's episode -- holy crap, I did not see that ending coming. It made me very sad.

Holy shit!!

RIP Sweets

I've always liked him. God, that was tragic.

Stephen Nathan said he was written out because JFD's career as a writer and director is taking off now.

I actually got a bit emotional...that has not happened over a TV characters demise in quite a long time.

The last character death I can think of that affected me this much was Vincent Nigel-Murray.

Did not see that coming at all; I really enjoyed what Sweets brought to the show.

After the whole "family" stuff with Daisy and then Sweets going off to do something alone, I had a bad feeling he was a goner ... too bad.

Re: Bones (FOX) -- Season 10 Thread -- Premieres 9/25/14

I wonder whose idea that was. Was it John Francis Daley wanting out of the show? Or was it the show's producers looking for a big shock?

I thought it was a fairly good episode, but it just didn't feel right throughout. Sweets wasn't quite acting like himself, as if they were doing it all as a setup.

Killing off a main character like that in the season premiere seems really odd. Unless Daley wanted out.

It was mentioned in an article that they wrote Daley out because he's getting busier with his feature writing and directing career. He's directing and writing the new Vacation movie. Plus he has 6 movies in development.

How in blue hell has this show lasted 10 seasons ? I watched half of season 1 following David Boreanaz from Angel, never thought it would last this long !

has it improved dramatically over the years ?

Very little discussion about the show on tv talk

I thought it took about half a season for the chemistry to click. Once that happened, it turned into a fun, light procedural. I wound up binging the entire series over the summer. It was the TV equivalent of popcorn. Comfort food is a great way to describe it.

I guess they needed a new annoying female intern to replace Ms. Wick.
