Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Is this show a candidate for Blu-ray release? Despite owning the now OOP DVDs, I'd definitely double-dip for the first season on Blu-ray. I would have to think long and hard about season two.

The current Bandai BD is pretty awesome, so I don't mind if Funimation didn't get that one. Though it would be nice if it could go back in print.
For anyone that likes Haruhi Suzumiya's humor I highly recommend the new series, Invaders of the Rokujyoma?!

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Wasn't it Kadokawa Pictures USA that had the license for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Bandai was just the Distributor? On the back of the dvd's even for the movie it says released by Kadokawa Pictures USA. and says distributed by Bandai.
I wonder if it would get released in chronological order and release all 28 episodes as one season but in two parts, that would solve the endless eight thing. Anyway your looking at endless eight wrong, you get to see Haruhi in different style swimsuits, lol
Most likely the previous licenser still has rights to Disappearance, once Funi releases the seasons I expect they will license the movie then.
