So can I use this excuse to ignore my daughter and play more games? "Go away Elise, I'm creating a digital footprint for you to remember me by."

He's lucky it's on his original Xbox and not a 360. That shit would be broken by now!

I'm really glad for him. What a crazy discovery. I also really appreciate stories like this one that can show a truly touching, positive element of modern technology. With so much complaining about how video games, cell phones, etc. are ruining people, these beacons of hope are important to me.

Nice story.

This story reminded me of the scene in the live-action Speed Racer movie where Speed sees his "dead" brother's ghost car, and could have beaten his brother's record during a race, but decides to slow down enough to keep his brother's record alive.

I showed the article to my wife. It made her cry. You win, 00WARTHERAPY00. Well, you win at everything except Rally Sports Challenge.

That reminds me that I never got that flick on BD. Is there any Region A friendly release that includes lossless audio? The US BD only has a lossy mix.

Not that I'm aware of, but I've read that future releases of the film on BD will have lossless audio. I have it on BD, bought it used cheap through Blockbuster, and it doesn't sound too and to me (though I'd prefer lossless as well). The current t disc uses BD25 instead of a BD50 disc, which could explain why the lack of lossless audio.

Re: kid plays xbox with his dead father...sort of...

My Dad used to be into Atari games. His favorite Arcade game was Space Invaders. He was one of those high scoring players that would play for hours in tournaments. I remember never being able to get past the asteroid belt stage in Star Wars for the NES but he was always able to get through it for me. Few years back I went back to the game and finally got through it all on my own. It's a pretty tough stage especially after realizing you could collect shields for the Millennium Falcon. That was crazy skill my Dad had going into that stage with barely any shields.
